I find some of his pictures over the top but yeah I generally like his pictures. Also a huge irritation, though I am sure I could get along if I met him personally

Almost as bad as the clickbait titles some videos use, IS THIS FOR REAL? then just waffles on like a million other videos.

I like Lanier's photos but not keen on his processing.

Lanier is alright, his work is at least of a standard where I can see he knows what he is doing. Most of the things he says are true, a lot of bias towards Sony in the last few years but most people are biased towards their choice of gear so I take that with a pinch of salt. One thing to remember is that you got to take what he says with what he shoots. He shoots models standing around in good light or with off camera flashes these days so when he says the AF is good, the AF is good for models standing around.

Manny's work is probably what I like more in terms of style and also the what it seems, smaller crew/set up compare to Lanier.

Fro Knows Photo, I think he is your typical forum member, knows his stuff, competent but nothing really stands out from the crowd, if I see his photo, I don't immediately know they are his, there is little character to them.

The one guy that I am really impressed with is this Chinese due call Xing Zu or something, shoots with Fuji X-T2 in natural light and process via VSCO on his phone. He posts videos of his shoots about once a week on YouTube, he has an eye for posing, composition and lighting. Very simple set up but lovely distinctive images.

There is bias and then there is being a fanboi, Lanier is the latter IMO.

yeah love this guys stuff. often shoots at golden hour and effortlessly nails lovely shots. usually hold the phone and films his camera shooting at the same time. low budget but very good stuff.

Link us up to the last guy. To be fair I like the reviews where it’s actually using the camera rather than a shoot. Like the guy that did the lens tests above. Just gets on with it.

Lanier takes some nice pictures but I find him hard to watch. Manny is decent along with Joel Francisco Hernandez and keydrin Franklin (uses a 400/2.8 on a a9 for portraits)

He makes it look really really easy. He shoots via the LCD, sometimes has a prism for effect but 12-15min video of photo after photo of the shoot and they are usually all excellent. He is very consistent and get results from very minimal gear, often he use just 1 lens for the entire video.

I like chats about gear as much as the next guy, but Lanier does irk me sometimes, to a point where I unsubscribed for a while.

I love Kai, and his presentation style but his images are not that great.

In some of his vids the way he talks to his models makes me cringe.
 
They're reviewing the A7III soon.

Coleen Nolan's been shooting with it.
