The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

If yous want to see some of the best wedding work in Sunny Northern Ireland, check out @decigallen (simpletapestry) that posts on the forum sometimes. Absolutely outstanding work.

yeah love this guys stuff. often shoots at golden hour and effortlessly nails lovely shots. usually hold the phone and films his camera shooting at the same time. low budget but very good stuff.

Just seen this, don’t you think his editing is often way OTT though? I downloaded some presets of his to see what they were like, bloody horrendous they are

No, because:-

1 - everyone has different tastes, and you may not like it, but I do, you can't deny he has style and a look.
2 - Presets are not 1 click and finished, you still need to tweak it.

Anyone free on the 21st April Saturday and fancy coming down London for a photo walk?
I'm in London that weekend but not free to do a photowalk unfortunately. I'll be on birdcage walk by the Arthritis Research cheer point on the Sunday though (y)

Wow and you got your D850 to take

1 - I get that, just saying the stuff I have seen of his looks over done full of Halos etc, just generally over processed - I am sure there is stuff I haven’t seen

2 - I also get that, would never just use a preset, in fact, I have never used a preset in any image. But seriously. The ones of his I downloaded looked like a 5 year old made them.

I should have asked before I ordered it….but does anyone know if the Sony RMT-DSLR2 Wireless remote work for the A73?

Anyone have this charger? Thinking something for the desk and have the other one for travel.

The Sony charger's rated at 8.4v, 1.6a but that Hahnel is 4.2v, 0.7a although it has a second line which also says 0.7/1/1.4a so does it double the voltage with only one battery or stay at 4.2v? It would be quite a bit slower than the Sony if not but not too far off otherwise. The USB adapter they supply with the A73 is 5v, 1.5a which should make it quite a bit slower than the separate Sony charger.

I think slowly charging a battery is better for it so not the end of the world either way but stuff like this just reminds me I don't know enough about batteries.

I think I am glad that this camera has an AA filter.

The A7R3 I ordered from Panamoz has gone missing. Happy days. They were meant to stop delivery and send it straight back to sender but it looks like they just left it somewhere without any type of signature.

That not good really that post would put people off buying from them

But I suppose they will refund you now

They have asked UPS to open investigation so just waiting to see what they say now. It’s not really Panamoz error. They sent it specifically requesting a signature on delivery.

They are the worst courier service ever. They somehow manage to loose even signed for deliveries. Home office uses them and they managed to loose the passport that was supposed to be signed for. The investigation is absolutely useless and will turn up nothing. The worst courier company ever. Pigeons would be more reliable!!

A6500 as second body to a9?

Just love the a9 for sports and wildlife, however, I'm getting more and more into street photography and finding the a9 doesn't suit me for this discipline (I'm sure the camera is fine, it's just me who doesn't feel right with it on the street).
I'm heading towards an a6500 (probably with a 24mm f/1.8 ZA lens) as a street camera and backup for the a9. Before I part with my next 2 yrs pocket money, is this a wise decision or am I just suffering from GAS?
Any thoughts, suggestions or recommendations most welcome.

That’s pretty bad. Will see what Panamoz come back with. Lucky paid via credit card if all goes to s***!

may be get the batis 25mm instead? you can use it on both A9 and A6500

Have you consider a compact like RX100 or LX100 etc. You could probably get a RX1RII as well if you are willing to spend a bit more.

@dancook is selling his Leica Q in sales forum... might be something to consider also. Seems like a good price.

I was considering an A6500 as back up to my A7iii but ended up getting a used Fuji X100F off of this site. It is a great camera to use for street photography ...

I am waiting for the next Sony APS-C body which is due this year..... hold out if you can as it might be a baby version of the A9 but with a APS-C sensor. :)
