if you sell them to me you won't have to deal with them :D

Anyone tried a Lim’s half leather case for the A9 or A7RIII? I think it should fit the A73 as well. Just like the Gariz case for my X-T1 which I love, adds that extra cm for the little finger whilst giving access to the battery door.

Looks horrible, imo. It’s like people who put cases on Apple watches - rendering them massive. Why?

Horses for courses and all that, though.

Cases on Apple Watch drive me mad too. But I do have one on my iPhone X thou

Aye, I’ve been rocking my Apple Watch naked for years - it gets a beating, too! Absolutely no issues. I’ve got the Moment case on my iPhone X for obvious reasons, the wood one. Looks good, imo.

I explained why...

You’re perfectly entitled to your opinion! If you think it looks good - power to you. I, personally, think it doesn’t - so no matter how good it’s function is, wouldn’t dream of putting it on my camera.

It adds that extra cm for my little finger. Who says it needs to look good? It’s a tool, not an Apple Watch.

I don’t like the bulk of the grip, and I think the Sony finger extension that they make is stupid because it blocks the battery door.

I want something to make the camera taller so all my fingers is gripping the camera, yet gives access to the battery door. it’s not a fashion statement, it’s a matter of ergonomic.

Personally..... I'd get an L plate, blends better

If it doesn’t need to look good, if it is indeed a tool, I’m with twist - buy an L bracket. Why waste your money on a stylin’ leather number?

Why are you so concerned about it's appearance? lol I never actually said or mentioned that I want to pose with the camera on a street corner wearing my Apple Watch (don't have one) holding an iPhone X (don't have one) on my left hand and Sony A7III on my right hand. Looking good has never been the criteria, nor was mentioned in my original question, I explained it adds that extra CM for my finger and keeps the access to the battery door.

So….keeping on the question of function….L Plate.

£260 ?! Are you kidding me?!

lol, didn’t think the L bracket was as expensive as that. You’re asking us what we think about a product, I give my opinion and you’re upset because I said it looks a bit sh*t?

Christ.

No, I asked if anyone tried one on the A9. With specific reference to its functions. I have NEVER ever mentioned "it looks great" in any of the posts referring to it.

I never asked for fashion tips, Apple Watches, iPhone X etc, I thought this thread is about cameras ! lol

And stop talking about LOOKING GOOD, you are obsessed with looking fashionable, do you take pictures with your camera or just look at it?

A couple of things….where did he get those sleeves for the batteries? I notice Sony batteries don’t come with that yellow bottom plate that the Canon does with a little window. I want.

Second, he travels with the lens on the camera? I would have thought this would put unnecessary stress on the mount.

I’ve never fitted a cover to any battery as they have recessed contacts. I generally throw them in my pocket loose when shooting an event/wedding so I can get to them when I need. All I do is stick a label onto each (1-4) so I can rotate them as they go flat and I always know which is the next one to use.

I’ve also never worried about having a lens mounted when in a bag. Not sure how it adds any extra stress on the mount over actually just using the camera?

Why are you trying to have an argument with me? If you don’t like my opinion, ignore me, instead of throwing personal insults in my direction. I stated from the very first post, if you like it, go for it. I PERSONALLY wouldn’t. That’s literally it. Eesh.

I am not trying to argue with you because we are talking about completely different things.

I want something functional, you worried about it's appearance.

The Canon battery cover has a window, there is a reason for that, on the back of a Canon battery is a blue label, the battery cover fits in both ways and one way you'll see the blue label, the other way you don't. So when I charge all my batteries I would put the battery cover showing the blue label, and when it's used and empty, I put it on the other way not showing the blue.

The stress for the mount is more to do with travelling, in case it gets checked in on a flight. One flight I had the latches on the pelican were BOTH opened, it must have been dropped or hit really hard. If you can avoid it, really should….just in case.
