I think if someone asked me what was the best camera to get, I would try and help them to get the best for them now.Personally I see mirrorless as the future and to be honest if someone just starting out asked for my advice (hardly likely) I'd advise going mirrorless not necessarily because they're "better" but because I think we're at the beginning of three things, a move to mirrorless, a convergence of stills and video and the addition of new features such as eye tracking etc. Yes some of these things have been around for years but arguably in clunky half working ways and I think that as mirrorless cameras develop thee features will improve and we'll see new ones too. Going mirrorless now will at least mean that you're in at the beginning and not putting off getting to grips with all this new stuff at some point in the future when learning it may be a little more difficult.
If that was phone, compact, bridge, mirrorless or DSLR then whatever.
yes you could be right lol jkThat's woofy .... jk

I need to get me a 2x TC
A7r3 next cough
A7R3 + 400mm 2.8 + 2x TC
... the future is calling
Bingo. You gonna do wildlife then?
once or twice!
I suspect I'll quickly get fed up of my images being lacking, but not wanting to invest the organisation and time into creating a single great image.
Long distance yuffie shots
With the A7riii cropability you won’t need 2x tcIt won't focus 100-400 with 2x TC @ f11 - I believe?

As long as they were honest in what they wanted and were willing to spend, then hopefully they would be happy with what they chose with all the advice they had received, not just mine, plus their own research. Your way sounds like advising everyone to get an electric car because that is the way its going to go. Nevermind range, speed may be limited choice is limited and charging points are few and far between, it is the future.

Seriously though, learn to use any camera and any different type will not be too hard to adjust to imho.![]()
100-400 with the 1.4 TC, such a light setup for wildlife - not that i've been using heavier..or done much wildlife before..
I think I've found the perfect gimbal to hold my A73 or my 5D4 if needed with all my lenses.
These things are Voodoo.

morning hows it going? whos doing some shooting this weekend? Weather is getting better
Maybe, but I still think it's partly a marketing ploy. Apple do it, Nikon have, Sony have and I'm sure there's many others.
This is from a professional...I do not use the second card slot as an insurance policy (writing the same file to both cards should one card fail). I have never had a card fail and taking the insurance option would slow the camera down (only card slot 1 is fast). I therefore set the camera to fill the first card and then start writing to the second card until I have time to replace the card in slot 1.
got any tips on how to get wedding gigs? or even engagement shoots?Morning Jonney. Pre wedding shoot Sunday. Was rained off last weekend, so fingers crossed it stays dry
How would they know? ..... there is no way they can predict the actual number of people upgrading from existing Sony bodies and people dumping Nikon and Canon etc.This. No way on this planet have the underestimated demand. They knew exactly what would happen.

end of the day, u lot who aint got a7mk3 yet should have went to the photo show. They had loads on offer
I know it was going to sell but as mentioned in a previous post, its better to have less supply than a over-supply from a business perspective.Pretty aggressive pricing. A9 aimed at pros. A73 most balanced camera they offer. Was always going to sell like hot cakes
It was a toss up between Barcelona and....Birmingham.
