That must’ve counted as one piece of hold luggage on its ownI ended up using my canon 200mm f2 on Louise's 1100d and my rx1r

If you can carry it you can take it
Only sticking point for me so far is lenses, must have 35 1.4. So it's samyang / mc11 35 art or wait zzz for 35 art native
Does anyone know when Sigma are releasing the art range for the sony E mount?
100% agreed.Don't wait, you can always wait for the next one but this camera IMO is undervalued and underpriced. Looking at what you get, compare to the A9 and A7R3 pricing, and also what the 5D4 and D850 retails for, I would have stick this at £2500 - £2700 and it would STILL look good value.
£2000 is seriously unexpected, this is 6D2 price point with D850/5D4 performance.
Think they are all asleep  dreaming about the A7iiiHas nobody here tried the Samyang 35 1.4, then? Quality wise, it would seem to be sharper than the Zeiss 35 1.4, which is surprising.

My problem is that I have arguably the best 35mm in the Canon L, I know the Sigma 35 Art is good but it's not Canon L....but the Sigma would be like £500...hopefully.
Have to agree here... was hoping that Sigma Art would be a proper native lens and a bit smaller!

Not to bothered about the way the art 35 fe looks tbh. The 85 and 135 look utterly ridiculous.
Amsterdam Centre from the SkyLounge by Chris Mitchell, on FlickrIts meant to be very good, been doing some reading about it this evening, at its price though I'd struggle to choose it over a Canon Fit Sigma 35 f14 and an MC-1 adapter...

E3? aint that a vide games exhibition? It can't be far off, there are samples in the wild.
I am going to guess announcement at E3 and perhaps 3 months to market?
@addicknchips has one... I have called dibs on it when he sells it![]()
Yup lol.... maybe he meant Photokina?E3? aint that a vide games exhibition?
Yup... It's not very good in the corners either.
It’s very good. It’s sharp and the focus is on par with the zeiss also. Doesn’t have the zeiss build quality and there is a bit of noise when focusing. But it’s quieter and sharper than their 50mm.
The focus is more reliable than the art lens adapted - so if that’s important to anyone it needs to be considered.
A great effort by samyang and I imagine an 85mm and 135mm will follow on from this.

Didn’t know that! Good advice.
Will need to have a look at that later.
That’s impressive as I thought the adapter Sigma Art EF f1.4 was pretty good on the MC-11
Hadn’t considered the adapted lens as the AF surely just isn’t as good as the Samyang..
Not sure where you read that - from the charts and reviews I’ve seen, it’s better than the Zeiss in the corners.
Used the canon 85mm f1.2 last night. Great in good light. Refused to focus at all in lower (not silly low) light. It does not perform like a native lens in all conditions.
Its way worse in the corners than the zeiss

The samyang picture seems to clearly show blur from shaking. I don't think he knows how to test sharpness tbh.
Look at the crop from the centre, its not blurred, something whack is going on there in the corners.
There is nothing whack that guy just doesn't know when to use a tripod or if he did he forgot to turn off IBIS (though I suspect its the former).
Not sure I'd trust any of his results since he can't even get the basics rights for someone posting sharpness tests.
(p.s. samyang might well be softer and I don't know if it is but that blog isn't a reliable source is all I am saying)

Hope so mate, may order it instead of waiting for the drainpipe ART... or pay little extra and pray to get a decent Zeiss.
order from amazon and if you don't like it send it back. simple.
its a very decent lens.
