I also took the 21mm Loxia which was outstanding but sometimes just a shade too long for some of those wider building shots I was trying to take, if I was looking at an AF lens it would be the Batis 18mm, gets stellar reviews although I'm not overly keen on the "style" of the body of the Batis lenses the IQ is second to none.
I reckon 18/35/85 would be a great combo for a travel kit and having taken all of this (A7rii, 16-35, 21, 35, 70-200 & 24-70 f2.8 GM) to Berlin I'll be slimming down on my next trip in October, the wide end is likely to get covered by either a Voightlander 15mm or the Batis 18mm, AF and f.2.8 would be nice though so probably the Batis!
Liked the 35 f1.4, maybe not as much as the Sigma 35mm but the native AF and compatibility were good, just wish it didn't have QC issues
Twist why don't you just rent the a7r2 for a weekend? You was never sure about the camera to begin with.
Hey dude most important thing is good quality SD cards my good one was fine the cheaper one I had took ages to load in comparison. But I didn't suffer any issues yesterday with it. Other than me not knowing certain things about it. The ability to crop is amazing. Seriously amazing.Na, hiring will cost as much as losses if I sold id guess. Hopefully it's good. Only way for me to know is to test it, I've wanted to do so for a while. I'll blame you if it's crap![]()

First shot from my A7/35mm Shift combo today. Handheld so not ideal when using full rise but I'm happy with the sharpness.

Ok the f2 24-70mm i think is out of the question! i cant afford to spluge that and i would regret having the f4 one thinking that i need better isolation constantly would drive me insance, i find f2.8 bad enough. I do miss the Sigma Art range and i hope to god that it comes out soon natively as i cant be bothered with extra bits of kit to make it work their lenses are big and heavy enough. But if they do a 24-70 and the 70-200 i am there.

Nice - That shift effect is really cool, my shot with a Fuji 23mm (35mm equiv) from the other end a month ago, shows nicely your shift effect (though my shadows are more central - taken nearer the middle of the day!!)

That I may young man. It seems good the 85mm is cool enough so the 55 should be good tooWhy don't you get the 55?

^^ Where's that?? I'm sure I recognise that second shot.
Hiya. I'll use my a9 next week for the world athletics championshipWhy not just use the a9? That lens renders great, not often a WA pops like that. Looks like lots of micro contrast.

Nice.A nice little review by a wedding photographer who moved from the Nikon D4/D4s - Fuji XT-2 to the Sony A9.
Most of the points seem valid although not sure about the EVF and Shutter Lag comments, the Shutter is supposed to be faster than the latest D5/1Dx II bodies .30 vs .35

The A9 continues to amaze me. So much in that little package. The fan boy comments are interesting, whilst I can see how someone so invested in something else may be irritated by a disruptive new product from another manufacturer I can't quite understand why they'd put so much energy into posting so many inaccurate little rants... all the accusations of being a [paid shrill etc. Get A Life seems appropriate![]()
