The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Could be all true, but reading reviews that the XT2 is better in low light than any sony but not too sure if it true lol..
I'll believe it when I see it and I wonder if they're talking in camera JPEG's with heavy NR which are nice and noise free and also detail free. But having said that it's newer and might have new clever tech but then again any new Sony will be newer still and may have even newer and even cleverer tech.

Still here with my lovely sony kit ;)

I can 100% guarantee you that the Fuji XT-2 is not better at high ISO/DR when compared to the A7RII, but when compared to the old 24mp Sony FF sensor its very close, I've even seen some images where the Sony retains sharpness at high ISO but suffers from really bad noise where as the Fuji noise is like film grain and more pleasing to the eye.

But how does if fair with AF in low light

I know I keep saying this but really... isn't just about anything good enough these days?

I've been playing with my new Panasonic GX80 and it's capable of quite amazing quality when compared to 35mm film and at ISO's that would have been science fiction when I still shot with film. And that wasn't all that long ago.

That is what I read and it's really do you like film grain for me no but and it seams relevant if you don't print why would that matter

For many low light users they might use low ISO and long shutter speed noise probably not much of an issue

Not trying to argue Sony V Fuji just the part that goes it's how you use the camera :)

Correct, most cameras these days are easily capable of great images, it's just the upper top end pixel peepers who need that extra bit :D

Anyway getting back with Sony anyone know of an 18mm prime ff lens not thinking fast or expensive but reasonable in terms of sharp and colour :)
I be keeping an eye on that as something wide be nice..

Samyang 14mm is an option. I use the 12mm/2.0 on my A6000 and it's excellent across the frame with minimal distortion.

Ultra wide primes are a bit specialist and therefore a bit expensive. Would a wide zoom not do you. I'm thinking of getting the canon 17-40 f4

I have the 16-35mm f4 I am weighing up options for resetting my focal length options, probably selling my 70-200 as I don't really use it 14mm would perhaps be wider than I use now but I could crop top fl 70 or 85mm

Not really sure yet the only snag with 14 or 16mm is edges when using a filter so would need cropping

Selling the 16-35?

Selling the 16-35?
Thinking only at the moment :)

I am toying selling both Sony lens and buying a 24-70mm gm that gives me a more useful size very fast the big but is about 50% of my shots are 16-18mm due to my love of castles also I am very keen that whatever lens I use can use my 100mm filters for land and seascape

Wide lens focus is really easy hence Samyang filter size curvature of glass is important, the gm series get good reviews on the 6xxx models so may be good on a mkii puts me in good position for a mkiii

I have my 70-200 on sale now though have doubt it's going to sell and that is step one for me less glass the better as long as I can use filters:)

You be moving tot he Fooj before you know it ;)

Where you selling lens

Or a 55-200 ;)

Oh yes all in stock now

What tickle your fancy

That my offer I've let them know

Just been chatting with a guy about my 70-200 not sold but reminiscing about the models with IS built in the lens and cost of repair he just had one that when body was left switched on the lens stabilisation was constantly working. Buzzing all the time glad I don't have those worries now :)

Anyone here after the 55mm? Think I'm going to put mine in the classifieds later.
It's a cracking lens and a very good copy (bought from Jonathan), but I just don't use it. In fact I've only used it once at a wedding.

Will also be selling an A6000 with Sigma 19 & 30mm primes, maybe a Sony AZ1 actioncam as well. All for the same reason as the 55 - just don't get the use out of them so may as well sell and get another toy :)

what sort of price were u thinking for the a6000, David?

As it happens, I spotted a reasonably-priced and minty-looking FDn 200mm f/2.8 on Ffordes site while I was scouting for the Contax 45mm.

I am now expecting its delivery to my office early next week :D

The lens turned up yesterday (with a day's delay thanks to Royal Mail). It's like new! A few test shots yesterday afternoon work out fine.

Happy camper

OK I'm doing a shoot tomorrow afternoon and wouldn't mind trying some hss with the godox x1t and tt685 flash. have the trigger and flash set to same channel and HSS on the flash turned on. the 2 don't seem to connect. any suggestions?

Had this before as well, but can't remember what I did to cure it. Can have a look tonight and see if my memory is jogged if you haven't sorted it by then.
