Hmmm. Who properly serviced it?
And this is not just a Rover issue. My sis has a V'hall people carrier of some description and after she had a new battery fitted it developed fault in that the power steering would go heavy and the warning light would come on. A specialist diagnostic team declared that it needed either a new wiring loom or a new gear box both at eye watering cost... only further investigation would determine which. Actually what it needed was the battery "calibrating" to the computer so that the drop in voltage when the old battery failed would be forgotten. Cost £0. I spoke to a friendly mechanic about this and he confirmed a mini epidemic of this. God knows how many people are paying for new wiring looms and / or gear boxes on these cars.
What is this...
