I love em. Much prefer primes like you. Is it just the 35 art you have it do you have any of the others?LOL. Its a shame your Canon sensor is the worst on the market and the lenses I use are Sigma ARTs... which are better than Canons equivalents. You keep forgetting, I dont use zooms. Hows those overpriced 35 1.4, 85 1.8 and 55 1.8 working out for you?
He uses sigma because nikon equivalent are garbage heheLol, fighting talk![]()

Yes. It's on the large size and probably wont interest me.No, 1 new lens. Yup, Ill certainly be considering the 30 1.4. Quite big though. But Im used to big/fast primes.

Here's a direct comparison between the the Sigma 30/1.4 and Sony 50/1.8...
As an A6k user, that's tiny for a fast prime and there would be no problem walking around with that all day. Ok, I wouldn't put it in my handbag but seeing as I want to take photos of the outside world instead of the inside of my jeans I reckon that's ok ;0)
The high ISO performance of the A6000 is much better than the equivalent MFT body so shooting at 6400 isn't a major problem. Whilst a 1.8 prime would be faster than a 2.8, I don't feel like it's the end of the world for the gains in sensor/functionality and handling. I shot my A6K with the 70-200 F4 at a wedding I covered a few weeks ago and often shot at 6400 indoors. Noise reduction is pretty effective in Lightroom if need be but I applied very little.
I am liking it a lot. Never had an 85 in my bag before I've been looking at the bokeh sometimes swirly / busy also If I do what I usually do which is frame/focus/bang (can't help it always been like that) with the thin DOF I screw up as in #3 below at f1.8 where nothing is in focus- first two at f2.8How are you finding the Batis so far?![]()

Here are a few from this afternoon - First signs of Spring.
Had a quick look Alan and nothing like your specification so farI've seen some examples that look nice with a central subject but I wonder how an off centre subject would look if not in the centre of the bokeh. Have done any shots like that? Would be interested in your thoughts on the look with off centre subjects.
Congrats! So after months of waiting I added a new friend to the gang today...
Thanks. Though I still need to decide which of the A7 and A7r to get rid of...Congrats!
From famine to feast as they say - Enjoy!
I'd give @twist one month until he visit) finally gets a a7r2
I really prefer the Zeiss packaging and lens design, feels really solid, 3 years warranty is great too, just ensure you register it ASAP.Wife took delivery of two Batis lenses today.
I'll probably be back in the spare room tonight

Yea but you'd think they would spring for a pouch eh? Maybe I could find one in Poundland and that might be fun pulling a Batis rabbit out of a Poundland lens pouch - ony kiddingEven the boxes oooze quality, proper "Made in Japan" too.

Or did your wife take them off you and banish you to the spare room for your heinous sin?
Or are they actually your wife's lenses and you are seriously jealous and in the huff?
Which?
LFMAO at that one. Gotta keep on the ball being sneakyLooks like she is sulking upstairs so I'll open boxes after dinner. Boxes will need to be hidden and hidden well. Maybe in the shed or garage.
She has started to google stuff.
When I first bought a d810 before we were engaged she was outraged at the price I paid. Her: "That could have gone towards my ring".
Me: "and then I wouldn't have the camera."
Got the a6k yet?
Monday. Just in time for my Trip to the Netherlands
