The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I only had filters for my old cameras no lea stuff, dad has that. But so far all I've taken are as good as a stopper, time will tell though when I get to the seaside, so 3.99 on a app or 100 plus on a stopper....

My point was that you don't need to go out and spend hundreds on a filter to shoot landscapes. Whilst the big stoppers are obviously very good, they also have a brand attached which leads to their price.

Yup it the bloody sensor :( as tried both lens..

But it good for people who doesn't want spend on filters or carry them about. Or beginners.

I be giving it a go.

I've got Lee filters and hardly used them so if this app does it good enough I may sell the Lee

Let me know if you do. I may take them off your hands.

First thing to do is to give the cameras cleaning cycle a few runs. If that doesn't work give it a blast with a rocket and if that doesn't work it'll need a wet clean.

Bad luck to have a dust bunny so soon but honestly, these cameras are better at resisting dust bunnies than any DSLR I've ever had.

I'd have to go against that. In my experience - relatively brief I may add, dslr cameras are less susceptible to gathering dust on the sensor.
My a7 a6000 and a7rii all showed dust visible on the sensor on long exposures shortly after I'd bought them.

I never had dust on any my DSLR. This first time I've had the boo. Already done the cleaning cycle. Will have find my rocket blower. But I dare not do wet clean.

When looking at the sensor I can't see anything on it tbh

Yup, same here. Csc are much worse but I also know from experience the original 5d was a hoover for dust.

When get back home I will post a image

Thing to do is to take an out of focus shot of something white, like a door or a sheet of paper, at max f or you can take a series of pictures gradually opening the aperture to see at what point the bunny raises its head and decide if it's worth cleaning or not.

Remember that left and right remain the same but up and down swap over so if a bunny is visible in the top right hand corner of a shot it's in the bottom right hand corner of the sensor as you look at it to clean it.

PS.
I normally try to get a long shutter speed so that I can wave the camera about so that nothing on your tarket is sharp. For example even if you try to shoot out of focus at small apertures a mark on the target may appear in the shot and you could end up trying to clean a bunny off your sensor which is actually a mark on your door. A longer shutter speed and moving the camera during the shot should avoid this.

Yup original 5d was terrible father in law had that

The mark is in the sky and where ever it like a smudge line or a tiny hair not a dot

That the dust bunny gone with the rocket blower.. never though about using that lol

Time Lapse is a video app too... I wonder if any one or sony get a proper app out for the star trails.. Not that I am too fuss over it.. Just something I always liked to do..

Time Lapse is it Rookie.

If you've ever done star trails before its all about Intervilleomtere and shutters, thats exactly what time lapse does...25 second shutter 4 seconds of writing to card, rinse and repeat 300 times, then stack.... Ignore the naming convention Time Lapse is exactly what you need :). I asked exact same question when i got the Camera all of DPreview told me not to waste money on star trails but to use Time Lapse....

Cheers @littleted

Will get that along with Smooth when i get round to it.. What software do you use to stack the images?

Funny enough that the one I downloaded earlier lol... Just need clear sky now

I can't believe how sharp this 55mm Lens is Ive not had a lens that picks up so much details.. This picks up the dust inside the dish..

Prob could of focus a bit further right or open the lens a bit more to get them all in focus??

Glad it's working out for you Andrew. You never seemed 100% happy with the D750 from day one.

Thanks Pal, The D750 just didn't gel to me at all I tried to get on with it but it just wouldn't gel with me like the Canon 5D3 did.. But this Sony has certainly gelled to me brilliantly just like the 5D3. I am not glad I have found a camera that works with me.. That what counts I suppose and to be honest I haven't found a issue with the ISO Noise at all as I not been having to have the ISO as high as the IBIS is just fantastic...

A7r2 u have?

Nope got the A7ii and it really impressing me. Couldn't afford a7r2 was thinking getting it later when I can but not bothering now as this is doing my job nicely.

Want a long lens before I visit the zoo that won't break the bank. Though about the Sony 70-200 f4 G native. But can this have TC adaptor ??

Nope you can't use a TC adaptor, besides Sony don't make a FE TC yet.
Once the G Master 70-200mm comes out I'm sure Sony will make a TC.
Remember 24mp allows heavy cropping ability. ;)

I was referring to the 70-200 we can get now the F4 isn't that the G lens too?? just not 2.8?

Ah... But the Master is going to cost a packet

F me. Seriously? Master G. What is that naming all about. Did they ask a 10 year old to run the marketing department.
