Has anyone else used a legacy 24mm f2.8 (Zuiko, FD etc...) that works without the vignetting?
That's puzzling, it being the same as the Leica R lens that's obviously fine as tobers has proved, and in any case it's a 35mm film lens, perhaps it's the adapter seeing as they were really intended for APSC NEX cameras.
.... or a different 24mm
the OM 24mm f/2.8 has quite noticeable vignetting on a 5D, though it's easily fixable in PP.
I haven't shot much with it wide open as you might prefer to do, but this was probably around f/5.6, SOOC (well, Lightroom RAW defaults)

ARGH!
The Sony software is frustrating me.
Do I really have to give Adobe yet more money to get the best from this camera.
Question to all...
I really dont want to shoot jpeg or bounce in and out of the Sony software and process tiff in CS5. Is there anyrthing you guys can recommend to process raws on a pc or is the only game in town Lightroom?
I think Alan's right, these things were made for APS-C Nex and on APS-C I'm sure my 24mm will be fine and I'm pretty sure that any other 24mm will vignette the same when mated to an A7 via an APS-C adapter...
Something very cool about that shoe pic. Nice.
That Zuikos sharp!
Oh, yes, it is.![]()
I am and I'll have to decide if it's worthwhile keeping my 5D and remaining lenses
I look forward to seeing your 5D for sale![]()

I'm living life vicariously through this thread![]()
Maybe try a 3rd party 24mm in MD mount first? I can vouch for the Cosina/Vivitar/Miranda/Carl Zeiss Jena (all the same thing) 24mm f2.8 being a good lens, at least in the centre. on my initial 4/3 camera I put mine head to head against an early Zuiko f3.5 and sold the Zuiko as it wasn't as good as the little Vivitar. At one point I had 2, one OM one MD. Can't remember why I sold them now!
Look carefully with DXo optics. They have a standard and an elite edition. The Elite is double the price and is often needed for the higher end or 'full-frame' cameras. Not sure what they are classing the A7's yet. Anyone know?Cyberlink PhotoDirector 4 Ultra is free with this months Practical Photography magazine. http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/th...embers-practical-photography-magazine.519119/
No idea what it's like but reviews seem okay: http://www.amazon.com/Cyberlink-PTD...or-Ultra-Download/product-reviews/B009T8GLWK/
DXO Optics Pro 9 is £79: http://www.dxo.com/intl/photography/dxo-optics-pro
Lightroom is what I use mainly use though, think it will be hard to beat. They all have 30 day free trials anyway so just use one of those until you decide what you want.

Ah yes, totally forgot about that - I know people were moaning that they needed the elite edition for the Olympus EM-1 - I imagine for the A7 you probably would too.Look carefully with DXo optics. Can anyone recommend a 3rd party battery supplier?
I bought a charger and it came with a free battery and although the spec on the label looks good it must all be a big fat lie as the battery is a fraction of the weight of the Sony battery and lasts about a third of the time![]()
I read that airplane mode massively extends battery life.
Yeah that's all it does, someone got over 1300 shots from one charge.Presumably that turns off WiFi and NFC?
