The 2014 Season F1 Thread

Looks like they're going ahead with that double points nonsense in 2015.....I understand their reasons, but I find it hard to agree with them.

Is the final race being the decider that important to the sport? I knows there are commercial/financial gains to be had from dragging it out, but it seems an odd way to try and make a few extra quid.

The reason is Red Bull
Bernies way of thinking is why would you want to watch the last race (he wanted the last three) when you know who has won the championship from race 16 or before
This of course ignores the fact that most people were waiting for someone to beat Vettal and each race is just that a race the total sum being the championship
Can you imagine what the outcry would be if Ferrari were 49 points infront of Red Bull on the last race and Ferrari didnt finish
Bernie is full of it

Now that would be funny, the Ferrari International Assistance would go into meltdown ;).

Interestingly Boullier has left Lotus with immediate effect. Another unpaid employee perhaps. I think he'll go straight to McLaren.

The longer tusk is 'the nose', the shorter one is just a front wing mounting (as is the long tusk), but they both act as turning vanes etc., Be interesting to see if its the 2014 F-Duct / Double Diffuser...

Perspective of the lotus nose seems wrong.
As Andrew c says above the left hand finger is 51mm behind the right one to confirm with the complicated regulations

I wonder if Micheals, Brawn and Boullier can share the job at Mclarean as they have all been put in the frame
Although its nearly February when Ron said we would find out so it could well be Boullier, intriguing isnt it

Its probably the best way to get air under the car to the splitter from the nose rather than have an obstruction that pushes the air down each side We will see when they race

I was thinking if anyone would be up for a trip to one of races...anyone?

Thats efin ugly, it looks broken already

If the leaked picture of the Merc on twitter is anything to go by, we have at least one more :)

Not sure how little of that Ferrari will end up on the grid in March - not a lot at a guess! Looks like an anteater's done something unspeakable to a panda...

The only thing Ilike is the name F14T which will keep the parent company happy

Best looking of the uglies
Colour scheme crepe though
Wonder what it looks like from the front

Okay... from front wheels and back, they all look fantastic!

The noses? Not so much! Awful!

What is it with the nose all about on all the cars. It looks very odd and no doubt prime target to be destroyed in any impact.

The nose is shaped like that so that Bernie can use his ladder to climb on the front of the car! lol

Its designed to meet the regulations Which were brought in to lower the nose so side impact on another car would not spear the driver
This is the designers answer to the regs but keep the areo gains of the high noses that shoved air under and out over the rear giving downforce No engineer likes to loose what they had so the new noses are trying to shove as much air under as they can and still be legal

Sauber has to be the best looking least ugly of the brood released to date

The mclaren isn't so bad, it's no lotus! I think they have 2 so that Maldonado can carry on with a spare after attempting a stupid overtake.

The Force India and Caterham both look like someone's taken an angle grinder, hacked the nose off and glued a King Dong type "intimate personal massager" in the gap.
