I've watched tennis tournaments on the television for a good many years and I've always had a pretty good understanding of the game's finer points.
However, one thing that has always eluded me is the expression 'the deuce court', often heard when commentators are talking over an action replay. I believe it makes some reference to the side of the court where the server stands, but to this day I've never heard it explained.
I only know of the term 'deuce' in connection with the score line during a game, when both players are on 40 points each. So can someone please put me out of my misery and tell me what is meant by 'the deuce court'.
