No
I've watched tennis tournaments on the television for a good many years and I've always had a pretty good understanding of the game's finer points.

However, one thing that has always eluded me is the expression 'the deuce court', often heard when commentators are talking over an action replay. I believe it makes some reference to the side of the court where the server stands, but to this day I've never heard it explained.

I only know of the term 'deuce' in connection with the score line during a game, when both players are on 40 points each. So can someone please put me out of my misery and tell me what is meant by 'the deuce court'.

It's the first serve court or the right hand side... as we are facing each other the first serve is always from the right hand side and if deuce is reached it will be from the right hand side. Advantage will be called from the left hand side which strangely enough is known as the ad side......

Thank you!

That reminded me of "Little Johnny"

Little Johnny ask his dad if he can have a TV in his room, and after a while of thinking about it, reluctantly grants his son's request, with the proviso that he turns it off at 10.30pm.

Next day, Little Johnny comes downstairs and asks his dad: "What's love juice??

Dad is absolutely horrified, but nonetheless explains to Little Johnny all about the birds and the bees.

Now Little Johnny is stunned to hear all this information, his mouth is agape in total amazement that his parents could have done such a thing... and that is where he came from.

"So Johnny," asks dad: "what were you watching on TV last night that would have prompted you to ask a question like that?"

"Oh," says Johnny: "Just Tennis."
