Teacher telling kids about the tooth fairy - what to do ?

OK, my final response to this thread.
I asked for advice about what to do. I didn't say I was very annoyed did I ?
Am I stressed like some seem to think ?

It seems to me that there are a lot of people jumping to conclusions about me and my child yet you know nothing about us.
My daughter is not shielded from life, but is, along with most of her class, holding on to the fun that childhood should be, and I am happy to encourage that.
Both my kids read a huge amount, and are both doing very well in all aspects of their schooling. When the teacher brings in books from her own home which (I AM TOLD) contain more adult material than is in a 14 year old's school library then I feel it worth looking into.
Had this all happened before the last day or two at school I would have tried to have a conversation with the teacher, but as there was no time I thought it worth asking on here. As for her suicide comments, there was no possibility of speaking about it at the time as my kid was present.

This thread was a simple request for advice about what the process should be.

worry about things that are of actual importance

not believing in santa or a tooth fairy does not make a child grow up quicker

I do find the whole idea of talking to the head teacher over this utterly hilarious though (as does my own 9 year old )

It's funny what will make some people laugh ;)

Its obviously of importance to the OP or we wouldnt have asked the question. My Daughter is still too young for school, but I would hope that a teacher wouldnt give her this information. As a parent, im really looking forward to the Santa/tooth fairy stuff as well as everything else.

certain people that have replied to this thread really need to wind their necks in.

Everyone is complaining about the state of the education system at the moment and also complaining about Gove who is trying to change it.

The system is wrong at the moment and Gove's fundamental ideas are good (based on various studies). I am not agreeing with Gove, just don't understand why people hate him yet can't specify all the things he has done wrong.

How wrong depends on the school, but a big factor is the parents involvement in their child's education.

As for the person who doesn't like Academies, you have no idea how good academies are and how we need them in the current education system. It doesn't work for all schools, but has a huge number of benefits.

Gove is like most of the coalition ministers he hasnt a clue about the brief he has, all his 'inovations' are nothing whatsoever to do with 'various studies' and everything to do with ideology. Actually most of his ideas are roundly condemned by most academics but seemingly Gove knows best.

Steve

Lots of academics condemn it, I know go to lots of academic conferences :). I also know most of them haven't read into why he has done it, they just don't want it because it is not the way they want. There are lots of changes coming which are very good, a few which aren't great. Most teachers don't actually have clue which changes are his, which aren't and the reason why.

Also if the new curriculum is so bad how come so many schools are adopting aspects of it already (10 months early)???

Steve - you've not read up etc. a head put it best 'ready why, understand and then decide if you still want to complain' (primary level). Have you read up yourself or just jumped on the band wagon?
