About a year ago I purchased a new Tamron lens 70-300. Worked fine until a couple of weeks ago, now when the lens is extended to it's full zoom length, I try to take a photo and an "error" message come up on the LCD
"FAULTY CONTACT BETWEEN LENS AND CAMERA" Please clean contacts....
I have done so but to no avail. If I draw the lens in slightly ie 275mm it works perfectly. Can anyone advice please.
Camera in use is a Canon 40 D Digital.
Thanks in hope

do you have any other lenses of similar length you can try it against to see if it is a body issue? if it happens on other lenses then youll need to get canon or a canon certified repair center (UK) to take a look and repair it (costly if out of warranty)

if NOT a body issue then you have to contact Tamron and see what their policy is on lens repairs / replacements.

Many thanks Mat for your quick reply, I have tried a friends 75-300 lens on my Camera and it works fine, hence I suspect the lens is at fault, in particular as it works fine when I shorten the focal length by about 25mm.

If thats the case then contact Tamron UK on the details provided about and state what problems you are having and see what they can do for you :)
