I am planning to go to New York City soon for holiday and am looking to get a sturdy table top tripod to take on my travels just to steady the camera (Olympus Pen E-PL7) for night time shots around the city and up the Empire State Building and Top of the Rock. I am not looking to take a full sized tripod with me as I'm going to be travelling light. I have narrowed down my selection to a Manfrotto Pixi and the Pedco Ultrapod II.
Any opinions on either? I do like the idea of the Ultrapod as you can strap it to railings and could come in handy where you wouldn't normally be allowed to use a full sized tripod.
Also, my wife will be using it so the simpler it is, the better so that she can have fun taking photos than trying to work out how the tripod works.
Many thanks!
