Yes
Anyone on this running of the course?

Not on this running, but did the first ever running of it.

Took a while to get going IMO, but was a good "grounding" course in the basic elements of digital photography and composition.

If you can navigate it (the first incarnation was awful!), the forum is worth getting involved in, as the course is much better when viewed as a "community" course rather than a solitary one I think as the feedback and critique from others is invaluable in the learning process.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try and find the forum and get stuck into it.

Yes, I'm on it too.

Great, that's two of us.

Agreed with all as above I too did the first ever
And it was a bit of a shambles but hopefully it has improved
and don't forget you are entitled to student discounts on Adobe stuff
Should you so disire I got my CS3 that way about £150 IIRC

The forums weren't exactly user friendly, were they! The course itself was quite good though, and gives you a good footing in the basics (which is what I wanted really to make sure I wasn't doing anything horrendously wrong) including composition, colour balance, printing etc..

Was a bit slow on the uptake with the whole student discount thing sadly and, once the course is finished, you aren't eligible for the student discount any more, so do it within the ten week window if you are planning on it.

Yep CS3 and Lightroom 2 already ordered and delivered, just need to get my student details emailed back to Adobe. CS3 extended for £120 and Lightroom 2 for £68. CS4 now seems to be on www.student-software.co.uk as well :)

Sounds like a good deal to me
I certainly paid more than that!
