weekly Sworks 52 in 2013

Hi ya

oooohhh....I'm liking that car...3rd shot for me....love the angle & focus & DOf.... :thumbs:maybe desat the brickwall or turn it to mono ?

Space.....right on theme , simple shot but it works....:)

Beautiful B&W, great depth of field, works for me!

Nice and simple, clear subject, great DoF, bang on theme, and the mono suits it. I really like that.

What is the chain drive off?

Nice photo, the shallow dog works well :)

Like it. B&W works well and cracking detail in the chain. Might not have been possible but I'd prefer more symmetry at the bottom.

Good show.

It's the timing chain of a Suzuki Liana

Like it. B&W works well and cracking detail in the chain. Might not have been possible but I'd prefer more symmetry at the bottom.

Good show.

Difficult to get a good position due to the wing of the car and the engine set in the engine bay, I cropped a little so as not to have half a link but agree equal cam pulleys would have worked better.
Thanks for the comments

I can only echo what's already been said. Really nice, bang on theme for me.

I don't like these dense dof images, to me they are too blurred, and most times i don't know what im looking at. The B & W adds to the confusion.

But I know I am very much in the minority here as the very blurred images seem to be popular,

I would never know this was car chain,

But chains = work so that is good.

I agree about the eyes, Lewis was facing the sun to make the most of the available light :( Was nice to get the shot early in the week and not last minute as usual :)

loving all of these - plenty of fun and screams gluttony to me. Not sure about the drool on his chin, but I'm happy to overlook that.

I really like your chain image and the B&W complements it well.

Gluttony, all of them scream gluttony to me so bob on theme. They would make cool image if all combined into one frame with a white border between.

I think no two is the pick of the three. Id like some flash added to the other two.

like the take on gluttony he seems to be enjoying himself the first image for me

First one works well enough for me, looks like you had fun! Not sure if the dribbling drool is deliberate or not, but it certainly adds to the effect! :)

Sometimes it's hard being a model :D

I like it and I like the almost closed eyes. Great expression. Think I'd prefer no hand.

Cheers.

Agree with the above really! Nice idea, no denying it's on theme!
I think the image would've worked well without the hand too, but I like it - good work!

Dribbling wasn't deliberate, just a side effect :)

Great take on the theme. I would agree, better with no hand. Well executed.

Built in 1730 this watch tower was used to protect the harbour from unwelcome visitors. Part way up the tower is a sundial which was the thought behind the 'time' theme. I took a closer shot of the sundial but had converging vertical issues so opted for the wider version

I'm sure it would have been difficult to get any decent pic of the sundial but an interesting building anyway

Good sharp image, I like the puff of cloud you've managed to get in too

I had planned a photo shoot this week with my classic Cooper S and a BMW Cooper S but the BMW owner let me down last minute :( So another rushed entry as I like to post before Friday night. The idea was to include some origional pieces and to use a mini as the car - still here though :)

Very good idea spot on theme for me - just somethng about the comp that troubles me. Just seems a bit random with no clear focal point - a bit busy and backlight off the shiny board.

Well done on keeping up to date - and perhaps you can get your Cooper S into a later theme (come to think about it 'S' is a letter). Look forward to seeing it.

Thanks for the comment, not particularly happy with the photo but two of my rules is a picture posted before the end of the week and 'something' rather than nothing. S had crossed my mind for this week ;)

Hi, there, I feel you are being too hard on yourself. Maybe not what you wanted but having looked at the photograph in Flickr, the detail and WB is spot on. Slightly wider DOF to get all the pieces on focus is my only crit.

Cheers.
