Haha - cool! It worked....I can see hours of endless fun coming when I'm bored! This answers the how but It still begs the question tho as to the why?

Haha. If I was to make a new car I'd call it WhizzHopper!I'm a member of the Ford Focus Owners Club & forum........ if you type in "Vauxhall" it changes it to "Whizzhopper"
Maybe the admin on here should do the same if you try to type Nik**n?![]()

This is just an observation really as I have done it before myself in threads but... Why is it ok to fill a 'swear' word with asterisks but leave enough letters so everyone knows what word you are using but it isn't ok to use the actual letters?
Do we delude ourselves that we aren't actually really swearing or is it purely the 'rules' of the forum not allowing us to swear so therefore we get around it with asterisks?
I'm not really sure who it protects. If there is a no swearing rule, why do a few asterisks make it ok? Who decides how many asterisks are necessary to make it ok? Why can't we just use the swear words if we want to?
Its a slow day today, just saw the Cecil the Lion thread and it got me thinking about swearing.....
... Let's have complete asterisks, even replacement words as we did in the past.does googled it (or google) still change? ETA evidently not
Whilst I agree there is no f*****g need for itAbsolutely... Let's have complete asterisks, even replacement words as we did in the past.
Some people here have such a poor vocabulary that they find it Impossible to type without swearing ... Absolutely no need, let's please see it gone!
As Tracie quite rightly pointed out, that was dropped some time agodoes googled it (or google) still change? ETA evidently not
this is the Admins house, ... and they treat it as they would their home,
No idea, but I guess they aren't there all the time, if they haveI hope they don't have children or grandchildren!
It all depends on ones perspective. To some saying; oh [PLEASE DON'T TRY TO BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER] sweet Jesus I don't ker, can be highly offensiveAs Tracie quite rightly pointed out, that was dropped some time ago
I don't recall ever hearing a Vicar or Nun swear TBH
(Although I guess they may)
But to put things into a little perspective, this is the Admins house,
and they treat it as they would their home, would you allow a stranger to enter you home and start mouthing off?
LOL thats dangerous ground lets not go there eh?Seriously I'm certain I've heard various priests swear at times.
Oh no it was totally innocent at church parties in the hall in our local Westminster dioces.LOL thats dangerous ground lets not go there eh?![]()

It would be OK to poop on the toilet, but if you pooped on @Cobra, different matterSo, if I were to say "the toilet is full of sh*t", that'd be OK
But if I were to say "Cobra is full of sh*t" I'd quickly get a suspe[account suspended]

It sounds so much better though. I've heard it many time said to me by a bella, but their pronunciation and the smile makes me melt.Vaffanculo

I think you are missing the point, it isn't fine to swear and that is why it is here. This has always been a thing which has boggled my mind too.
Example today, I think on the front of the 'i' newspaper was a picture of a guy carrying a placard which said "frack off". Everyone knows the word alluded to, but the word 'frack' is fine to write. If on the other hand he had used the four letter variant, it would have been f*** with asterisks. Again, we all KNOW what the word is - the only difference is the asterisks rather than the u,c,k letters. So it can only be the shape of the letters which offends us (since we all know what the word itself is)?
I don't have an issue with any collection of letters (since that's all they are), but I remain baffled by why there's a swoon-fest when four letters are shown in a certain order, yet when they are masked it's fine, despite everyone knowing what is meant.
We're a strange lot.

Yeah that is always the excuse trotted out but my kids learned them all at 6 years old as soon as they went to school!
I never ceased to amaze me how foul mouthed some parents are on the playground whilst waiting for their children...Yeah that is always the excuse trotted out but my kids learned them all at 6 years old as soon as they went to school!
