Hi Susie. I just logged in to this weeks word am thinking there is going to be some rum images coming in this weeks uploads.
I really like the very contrasty look you have given this almost like an ink stamp they sure are vertical.Gaz
On subject, but I dunno, this just doesn't work for me (sorry). Too many distractions perhaps?
I can see what you were trying to do with this Susie, vertical is kinda spoilt by the horizontals for me.
Its a nice image though![]()
... inclined to agree with the last couple of comments
Have to agree I can see the idea is there but a touch dark and a touch busy. But as you say its onwards and upwards.
I too agree with the previous comments.
The type of tree really interests me though..
I know they're not baoab, but they resemble them!
For me the leaves and branches detract too much from the verticals of the trunks, which are very vertical. Possibly trying it in colour and desaturate the greens might make the trunks stand out a bit more. Totally on theme![]()
Hi Susie, some great images, I can definitely see your bold image hanging in a kitchen, lovely colours, relax is a great shot, especially as it was shot on an iPad, I like the idea for vertical and it's one I have been considering, I just find the bottom 3rd of the image a touch dark.
John
Hi Susie, well I have to say I quite like the very contrasty nature of the image, it is busy but I can still see the verticals![]()
Hi Susie,
Vertical, I'm in agreement with what others have said about there being a bit much going on - sorry! I do like the shot though, it just doesn't fit the theme as well as some of your other photos, but I know you were a bit rushed![]()
on first view the first thing i was drawn too was the mouth.
Can't really make out the mouth, however a minor detail and one thank quiet frankly I couldn't care about because its a fantastic shot, beautifully sharp, where its supposed to be. Bigfrom me
really great shot Susie - can see his little mouth there - he kept very still for you! Nice and sharp shot.
More nose than mouth ... but who cares
Susie, I think that's a brilliant portrait ... perfect POV & DOF.![]()
Nice shot Susie, dof is good, composition works. Cracking picture. And well done for getting the dog to pose!
Hi Susie,
Mouth - as others have said, its more nose than mouth, but excellent shot all the same![]()
Hey Susie
What a beautiful shot for Mouth[emoji4]..... I want to see the rest of her now - bet she's a real cutie!
Mouth, nose, muzzle... you could have hit any of these. It;s got a nice abstract feel, nice use of shallow DOF, and I really like the way it's hard to tell if it's a deliberate mono or not.
Mouth - I think I have to agree on the fact that it is a bit more nose than mouth, but it is a sharp image and I like it.
DoF accurately focuses on the mouth leaving the nose OOF. So an accurate portrayal of the theme.![]()
on first view the first thing i was drawn too was the mouth.
You have there a super super picture and clone out a couple of the longer whiskers and i could see that framed and hanging on many a wall
My favorite mouth shot of the week by a mile.
Simon .... I really appreciate your encouragement, I often feel out of my depth on here so when I do get it right it really spurs me on I have to agree that it's more of a nose shot than a mouth shot, but I absolutely adore it!
Hi Susie, I see there has been a bit of a nose bandwagon passing you by, looks good to me liking the closeness of the crop and the PP, nice work![]()
super shot Susie, whether it's nose or mouth I really like it. The crop works very well![]()
As been said Susie, its more nose than mouth IMO,
but its a nice detailed shot
( my dog has no nose... Naw sharn't bother)
It's more nose than mouth but that said I really like this. The shallow DoF helps to make this stand out. Nice one.
