I managed to get this shot last night.
The Southern Hemisphere moon seems to have a few more cracks in it, than that up north??

I was in the hills outside of Dili, Timor Leste late on Friday evening and the moon looked very yellow and low in the sky - sadly I didn't have my camera with me.

Now I know what was going on!

Actually, it'll be closer in November 2016. I keep saying it, there's nothing special about this Moon.

We enjoyed it... I bet you like the Grinch as well...

Bah Humbug...

Heres mine, and something a little different...

Sorry, didn't realise this was directed at me. :bonk:

It was taken with a Canon 550D, 400mm focal length with f/8 and an exposure time of 1/200. On a tripod, with MLU enabled and a remote to avoid touching it in any way. ;)

You can tell the difference the remote makes. Thats the problem I had also not the best tripod (cheapy) I knew every time I pressed the shutter it was moving slightly. Looks like a remote shutter release is on the shopping list then.

Scarecrow and Glenn, damn you make me feel soooooo inadequate :'( Couple of really nice shots guys and Scarecrow's PP top notch, thanks for the lesson

Here's a bit of the Moon !
Not of the 'supermoon' but a while ago with a telescope @ 1600mm FL

thanks! I know it's not really 'published', but I'm about to be made redundant and will have to move my family (with a new member due very soon....) - so it's a tiny ray of sunshine!

Sweet close up...anyone got any macro shots? :)

I still think processing to pull the colours out does wonders for a full moon shot.

Certainly makes it stand out from the 'ordinary' shots of the moon. And thanks for the link to the guide on how to do it.

Staying strictly within the boring camp (I am an engineer ;)) -

With my Pentax and Sigma 150-500 -

Took a shot of the moon at a high ISO (6400), was playing around with exposure and uncovered hidden stars, made me smile :)

Nikon D3s, ISO 6400, f/11, 1/2500 sec
