stuck SD cards

That is exactly how I felt. I was being made out to be someone who had been in prison- a liar- a fraudster - in deep debt- .also wanted to know about any other insurances we had such as household insurance. With that she demanded to know which company that had nothing to do with my claim and I didn't even have the camera on the house insurance. So I quoted the data protection act to her and issues of confientuallity. She refused to accept a phone number of the company that I first went to who removed the SD cards and not the repairers. That would have proved she was the liar as she "assumed" it was the repaires that removed the card. She claimed she ,on enquiring with that company, that is what she was told. So I too contacted them and they never said anything like that just quoted the repair report
Ok I accept there must be certain questions to answer so it is not a false claim, but to virtually call you a criminal is something else.
I didn't realise others had been treated the same way as per examples above until I checked.
so far it has been hell but I have an idea up my sleeve.
Next time if there is one I am going to say my old company legal advisors suggest I get a satisfactory outcome within 14days. Failure to do so would incur adding £100 per day from date of notification until the claim was sttled

You can be sure that in the policy wording there will be a clause that means if you have two policies that cover the same item, the liability will be shared.
My cameras are covered on my home contents policy, if I had a separate policy to cover the camera, the two companies would want details of the other, and they have every right to those details.

I can also see the logic for the in-depth questions, as the card got stuck in the camera, but at that point the camera was not damaged, it just had a card stuck in it.

Of course you can choose not to answer, however that will obviously slow things down, as they work on scripts, and any blanks have to be filled or resolved before it can progress.

I do agree though that on the surface, you have not received satisfactory service overall.

Wow I was with eversure and didn’t renew this year , got cover on our home insurance for a hell of a lot cheaper .. sounds like a lucky escape when summat goes wrong you don’t need this crap

I have my camera gear on my home insurance (under 'All Risks') and the experience I had several years ago when we had a break in to the detached garage / office was similar in respect that different departments handled different stages of the claim, but quite the opposite in terms of service provided.
I was very happy at the time (included in the items taken were 2 second hand film cameras I'd bought off eBay as they were bundled with lenses I was interested in - they apologised that they couldn't source equivalent film cameras, and offered 2 DSLR, worth 10x what I'd paid for the film cameras, instead).
The biggest problem with insurance is it's almost impossible to tell the service you'll get in advance - you've very much buying the 'product' on trust.

Update.
A couple of slightly good news. The spare replacement parts for the camea have arrived at the camera repair company so hopefully it wont be too long before get my camera back
Next I have again been onto Eversure and explained everything to a very nice lady called Chloe, who seems to be the only one who is able to at least look into what I have had to deal with, after I explained the problems with AXA and Sedgwick. She has alread tried to contact the lady at Sedgwick but she has already hit the same problem as me, the lady at sedgwick is not there to take her call. Chloe was actually shocked at the way I have been treated and hopefully will be trying to discover what has gone wrong with my claim. even more shocked that the lady at Sedgwick actually asked if I had a criminal record.

when the lady "Jessica" at Sedgwick actually asked if I had a criminal record or in some sort of deep debt. I really lost it and my language well you can guess. Me in over 60 years of driving never had a speeding or parking ticket. Twice I had to assist the police of raids on pirate radio stations and on the radio communications circuits the police use As I then worked for BT who are strict on background checks when applying for work with what was then Post Office. Telehones. Also had to have special checks before I work in an out of town gov .official house .Still not allowed to say any more as I have signed the official secrets Act. What I can say it was to do with security within the ground of this house.

And this lady has the bloody cheek to ask if I had a criminal record. She would not have lasted a day within my company (after leaving BT) treating my client/customers like that. I am still fuming over it as you may gather

update
Just had a call from jessica at sedgwick and I blew my top at her,
She keeps saing I put the card in the slot the wrong way around, that is impossible, she claimed hat is what the repairs told her- again untrue they just sent her the report. I asked to be put through to the company CEO, she refused. I asked her if she had a camera and she said yes. So asked her was it a film-DSLR -compact - MFT. she didn't know. Even my wife told her you can't put an SD card in the wrong way around, she didn't like that .
next t stupid thing she said it was not accidental damage which it would have been if the card was put in the wrong way around . you just can't make this up
So back on the phone to Eversure to another nice lady

I said to her it might seem an odd question but is she had put a pot on a stove and as taking it off the stove the handle fell off due to a product weakness,.would that be deliberate or accidental damage. No answer, I also ponted out to here about to 20% complaints about their caera insurfanc side of the businesse opn trustpilot

What really gets me if it had been a car crash with thousands of pounds worth of damage They would have paid out repair or scrap value without any problem.
as mine is a claim for about £400 for something unforseen happening as mentioned I am going through all this.

Sounds like she is trying to help you, if it was accidental damage they would pay, if it was a faulty card or camera they wouldn't :)

In fact, some Panasonic cameras it is possible to insert the card the wrong way round without too much force

Just had a manager on the phone and she said if I had put the card in the wrong way around then they may pay out.
Or in other words lie and make a false claim. Then I for making a false claim risk prosecution.
Next they may not oay out as I didn't use their approved repairers
If had waited for them the camera would still be with me . now this afternoon the camera is back with me fully restored.

So my next move was to email their C.E.O about this . My motto is if you have a problem with a company go to the top, this mamager didn't even know her C.E.O was away for a couple of weeks, but I did.
so I looked the company up on review sites
score 1.1 out of 5

so it is not only me having trouble with this company

Glad you’ve got it back. Let’s hope the insurance company do the right thing.

unfortunately Trevor they refused to pay out . this company has an appauling record if not the worst. That is sedgwick who are indirectly linked with many insurance brokers. I was talking to a manager at that company so I said to her " if she put a saucepan on a stove. when she removed it the handle fell off. is this an acceptable claim" she refused to say yes or no, although challenged several times. I emailed to ceo about this and got an auto reply he was away for a couple of weeks. Communication within Sedgewick is non existant, the even this manager didn't know

the good news is I now this afternoon got the camera back
