I have one of those leader picker things I could pop into the post if you need it Chris.

Supposedly there's a trick you can do with an old film leader, might try that first...

Yes, wet the leader and insert it into the cartridge.
The moist surface sticks to thé film inside.
A bit of fiddling and you can pull the leader out slowly with the leader of the internal film attached.

Phew, well finally home, still cursing bloody GP3 film, but additional happiness hopefully at pics around Chesterton Mill, a place I have seen plenty on this forum and currently surrounded by fields of rapeseed crops. So glad I spied it from the M40 and took a diversion [thankyou for your help satnav]

Oh yes the mottly crew..... Good to see they haven't changed.....i'm no better looking either!:D:D

Who is it far right, sat down?....i recognise all the others asuming the "man in black" facing andysnap is donut

That's Simon Ess, the short good looking one with the specs is me :D

Sounds like you all enjoyed and thé location looks from Yvs pic, that there was some potential for some beautiful shots.
I'm looking forward to seeing most of you again next month, old faces and new inc Simon Ess.

Speaking of which, we clean forgot to talk about what's needed for the megga-meet... actually, we didn't forget, we just couldn't get a word in for Andy's chatter!!!

Fantastic day all, many thanks indeed! Great to see old and new faces alike! Who knows, maybe next meet I might take a frame...? We can but wait and see! :/

Thanks again all :)

Really sad that I wasn't able to make this in the end. Sounds like everyone had a great time! On the plus side I actually bought a van today, so if everyone would like to pretend tomorrow's Saturday and reset their alarm clocks then I'll be able to make it :D

Really glad you all had a good day, I can,t wait the see the results it is such a great place for a shoot.(y)

Yes, that Donut does go on a bit :D

Did you not pass any record shops? You wouldn't have seen him, let alone hear from him, for at least an hour!
No record shops, no camera shops :banghead: Who's choice of destination was it? :bat:

Got 2 of the 3 rolls devved last night so should have a few piccies up tonight.(y)

Looking forward to seeing those Andy.(y)

... and I've got one roll (the last one, the only one I remembered to leave the leader out) sitting in final wash in the Rondinax tank as I write this! Incredibly fraught process... but I can see there are some images on the spiral!!! Colour me excited (in black and white, of course).

ETA: Hmmm, not the place to discuss it in detail, but the last full frame is no 32; frame 33 is cut. There was so much resistance, I was pretty sure I was at the end of the film before operating the guillotine. In theory, those last frames mat still be inside the cassette, but there's not likely to be an easy way to dev them, I guess.

Or alternatively, it doesn't stick!

Is is spare? Perhaps I should put up a wanted ad...

Bah you need Yorkshire spit lol

If you're not sorted with a retriever before the meet in june, let me know and i'll bring you mine as i cannot get on with it!

I tried the wet leader method and got nowhere so I bought this.

It works a treat. I had 5 films to do. Most worked first time but I had one that took a dozen goes. Worked in the end though.

I'd be happy to lend you mine or you could just buy one at that price.

I have something similar.... Even came with instructions but i'm a hopeless case with it

Like them, Andy, though there's something "interesting" happened to the colours?

Interesting you say... explain yourself if you please, colour blind over here. :D

Looks like you lot had some nice scenery! Quite annoyed to have missed the meet but this paper wasn't going to write itself sadly.

Well, a lot of redness in the last one, for example. I guess colour blindness would explain it!

So here are a few from me. This is the third film, as the first two got rewound into their cassettes, so I haven't been able to dev them yet. But, see later!

1) Gathered for lunch. Nicky managed to hide AND move, but donut and family didn't entirely escape...

2) Selfie!

3) Band shaking Henley St!

4) Statue at the top of Henley St... is it Puck?

So the last one illustrates one of the annoying defects that affected around a quarter of the images: black bars part way across the negative, appearing as white streaks. Some negs even had two of them. And the water marks visible on the negs were awful, although most didn't show up in the scans too badly (but there is one in the band, IIRC). Hmmmm.

It wasn't the same without you Mr Hooley, we had to resort to taking the p*** out of Mr Snap instead.
