Hi folks.
It's been a while since I last posted here. Unfortunately life got in the way of hobby and to cut long story short - I lost most of my photo gear, for the third time. All I have left is light stand, reflector and few other bits and bobs.
This brings me to the point where I need to buy camera, lenses and flashguns - and I have few questions in this matter.
Camera
So far I have used Nikon and really like their cameras. Howeveer, I have watched few workshops by fairly well known togs and I've heard stuff like "DSLRs are on the way out, mirrorless is the way forward" to quote the first one - J. Lanier. Now I always wanted to get D810 as it would be perfect for what I need it, but this statement makes me think... Should I consider buying into new system or stick with Nikon? If I'd go mirrorless, I would aim at FX from Sony.
If I'd stay with Nikon, I have two options of speeding up the purchase. Camera Jungle (second hand bodies with under 5k clicks can be had for 1700) or HDEW. Which option would be safer in terms of service and warranty?
Flashguns
I have used SB700 in the past and did like it. However it was quite pricey for what it was and didn't really offer much. I have found Godox V860 II which seems to be so much better - built in radio triggers, much bigger guide number, internal lithium battery and price about 90 quid a pop lower than new SB700. Choice seems to be easy, but since I've never used off brand gear I must ask - will Godox be better in long term - ie reliability and/or repairs? I really like the option of not having to change AAs and not messing about with Rx for every flash - I'd aim at getting 3 or them for outdoor work. For indoor shoots I will look at proper heads, but it will be later down the line, now just need to get going again
.
Think that's all for now. Thanks in advance for your input.
Regards
