Just finished up editing a wedding I shot entirely on small cameras. Still were on Fuji X series and video was on RX100. Like this combo a lot....
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 is an enthusiast compact camera based around a 20MP 1" CMOS sensor. It features a a Zeiss-branded 28-100mm equivalent F1.8-4.9 stabilized lens featuring Zeiss T* coatings to minimize internal reflection. The rest of its specification is pretty impressive too - a 1.2 million dot 3.0" LCD (VGA resolution but using Sony's WhiteMagic technology to offer greater brightness or improved battery life), and 1080p60 video capture or 1080i with the ability to shoot a 17MP stills without interrupting movie recording
SO go for it
Nice bike! Need to take my own out more often, been very lazy about it lately.
I don't use any of the other modes bar standard RAW shooting, in either aperture priority or manual, or for quick shots of the kids and cat, sometimes I'll use the advanced auto, which does a fine job.
which software are you using to edit your video work please - Sony PlayMemories Home or another one.....and are you using MP4 or AVCHD
I have read that only MP4 will be able to play on an iPad anyone know any different??
Thanks
Dave
Did you know that you can use an Eye Fi card with the RX100.
Really liking the look of this camera for the wife. Basically she is after a really good compact with the following, great IQ, pocket size and good flash ability for indoor shots.
Now after reading through this the IQ looks amazing, it's obviously pocket size (I bought her a G11 and that was 'massive') so only thing now is the flash. I see it can be tilted for bounce, any good? Anyone got any indoor portraits sooc?
Thanks
Im going to try AVCHD at weekend, see if there is much improvement from MP4
Flash is fine, what little I tested of it at least. ISO performance is good enough that you'll rarely need it. And yup, you can tilt the flash back for bouncing, works fine with a low , white ceiling at least.
Cyberlink Power Director use it for all my video editing.
Thought Macs were supposed to be the dogs for things like video?
I think we can all agree that in a long illustrious line of bad documentation, the RX100 documentation is the worst ever......![]()
Thanks
Also where is best/cheapest to buy? I think Amazon so far.
