Is it really a year since I last moaned about the term 'disposable' camera?!!
Steve.
You can enter up to 3 but must be straight out of the camera, no cropping, straightening or tweaking or PP of any kind.Just came back from holidays and used a disposable over there (was discounted in the supermarket, i couldn't resist...). I got the scan back a few days ago. I did some processing and cropping but i can pick the original file to enter the competition. Only problem is that i didn't know it was a competition and it's mainly snapping of my familly and i don't post much "personal" thing up here but there's a couple that i can upload. How many picture should anyone enter?

That's the nature of the challenge, to get the best out of a disposable camera, if Adsa's scans aren't getting the best out of your films then send them somewhere else.H'mm Nick it's not a level playing field as in my experience most scans from Asda need tweaking (probably for snappysnaps too) in PS so the guys who send their films to a lab will have an advantageThe only way around it is:- to stipulate that the content\subject is to be judged and not if the shot is too bright\dark\spots or whatever.

Think one might be missing the point a bit there, Brian...
It's not a serious competition. They're disposable cameras, not Nikon F6's with the best meters and Zeiss optics! It's meant to be a bit of fun...
But shame a competent photographer's shot could be bad because of poor scan and he\she can't do anything about it.
But you can do something about it. Use a good lab!
...it would be an equalizer if all the cameras were sent to e.g. Peak or whatever would be suggested..
Why does it need to be equalised? It's up to the photographer to make the necessary decisions to achieve the desired look for their respective photos.
Should we force everyone to shoot the same scene with the same film too?
A great pic will transcend all other factors.
Maybe..![]()
Oh go on then, I'll have another go at failure......![]()
Managed to get my entries in but not very happy.
:bang:I took a B&W camera with me on holiday, used it up and bought a colour one-use out there and used that up. Totally forgot to develop anything or submit it, what a bloody fool.![]()
Thats the main reason I've stopped entering POTYI swear to god, that one statement could sum up my entire photography journey
I think there's an extension until tomorrow?
