I gather it's this Alexis Bailey: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/educatio...otional-interest-with-vulnerable-student.html
Didn't lose a teaching job for long as was "unlikely to reoffend".
As for Oxford: well trouble broke out in Blackbird Leys, Barton and Headington but that's actually quite normal behaviour. I wouldn't have classed it as a riot. But the police are watching out for trouble.
There was a threat made via Twitter to attack Witney (which is much nearer to me and my nearest town) as it's where the Prime Minister has his constituency offices. I did have a tantrum at the person who posted it: pointed out that we in that area are NOT to blame, we've tried really hard to build Witney into a decent town over the years and we will not appreciate any rioting, arson, looting, violence etc... nothing happened last night but I am still fearful. I sent the exchange of messages to the Police for their information. I'm not being a snitch - I just don't want to see any more violence escalating in totally pointless places.
I don't want to see violence escalating anywhere, let alone in pointless places! I've been to Witney and it's a nice place... I just heard a rumour that they tried to set fire to a warehouse or wholesaler or something near the end of my road last night...
