oh no, not JS, its sony! my bad!

Just put on LBC, to hear a recruitment ad for Special Constables

oh no, not JS, its sony! my bad!

The BBC originally reported it as Sainsbury's but recently corrected it to Sony. So much happening at the same time in different locations that the situation is understandably confused at the moment.

That's the understatement of the century!

Neither the newscasters nor the Old Bill can keep up with what's happening!

Well I don't advocate that, because then we really have lost it. This country is going to look like a joke to the rest of the world in the morning.

If it kicked off in Glasgow I would be trying my best to form a vigilante team if the police didn't try sort it fast.

If there ever was a good time for a citizens arrest, it would be under those circumstances.

I wonder what the legal definition of Civil War is?

Quote of a rude girl at the Mare Street battle as crowd starting smashing shops and a petrol station . . .

“Don’t touch the Jobentre, I gotta sign on tomorrow.”

…. It was left untouched.

retail shops have crashed due to looting and stolen stock yet ebay is thought to be really busy over the next few weeks

Could be a large number of cut-price smoke damaged Sony cameras, for instance.

I wonder what it will take to fix whatever is broken in the UK. It's looking increasingly unlikely I will go back.

Because every other country in the world is bliss to live in isn't it,, most countries have civil unrest at one time or another, this is opportunist criminals taking advantage of a situation

The government is closing prisons, this is the reason things like this happen, most of these thugs have records as long as your arm, they shouldn't even be on the streets they should be banged up , anyone caught looting 3 yrs minimum

Theresa May has just said on tv anyone caught rioting will face the full force of the law, the maximum sentence for rioting is 15 years, if they actually did face the full force of the law and spent 15 years in prison the public would feel more reassured the government were standing by what they say

15 years? More like 15mins the gov will slap on these rioters. I might as well quit my job and join in and loot jessops lol because half my ****ing tax goes to these *******s anyway

Message to all the rioters ........... U wanna be big men and fight to the death , well get your sorry little arses on the next plane to Afghanistan and stand alongside real men , they're called soldiers and they are fighting a war unlike you bunch of pathetic wastes of space .......

I'm afraid nobody will like this post and most will just ignore it, but you're all wrong. Further discipline wont help because if it would it would have been proven to be the answer in history by now. The same goes for softly-softly. Nothing has ever worked for this reason...

The problem is simple, but complex. We are a young species in early stages of our development with a big old brain we can't drive properly yet.

As Gurdjieff said, "Fairness? Decency? How can you expect fairness or decency on a planet of sleeping people?" By this he meant that the very vast majority of people (including on this forum) are functioning at a very basic mammalian emotional-territorial back-brain level.

We have the ability to think yet the very vast majority never ever have a truly original thought in their lives. This is not a judgement, simply a fact. What we call thought is simply conditioned quasi-thought - machinations of the mind on some kind of repeating loop. Any time spent meditating or practising any method of re-establishing control of the mind/body such as yoga or Qigong will demonstrate to oneself the utter nonsense that goes through our supposedly intelligent minds unabated on a daily basis.

Until we reach a critical point in our evolutionary development where the majority are utilising their frontal lobes as a matter of course we'll continue to stumble around like children poking our hands in the fire.

Psychobabble. Absolute drivel from somebody with nothing better to do than come up with useless crap. Another apologist excuse for these little scumbags.

It's not their fault, they just haven't grown into their brains yet. Frontal lobes my arse. They know right from wrong, they just don't care.

I'm not ****in apologizing for these morons and if you think I am then you're a retard. I've had it with this place.

Explain exactly what it means. Educate me, because at the moment it says:

People are unable to think for themselves and therefore function by instinct.

If that's not making an excuse I don't know what is and I really can't work out why you'd post it otherwise.

Edit: for clarity I'm not saying you've nothing better to do, just the author, but I am wondering what bit of the brain you employed for that response.

I quite enjoy reading the emotive responses of the people on this thread. Quite interesting how things like this polarise peoples opinions about life and politics.

Whilst i don't agree with what's happening around the country at the moment and the aimless violence and looting etc, I do think that it is good that people can see that they still have options when it comes to protest etc.

With due respect Dod he is not condoning or excusing any of the actions of these morons.

What he is actually saying is that they are incapable of understanding basic thought processes which would enable them as individuals to see the error of what they are doing.

Mob mentality rules - you see someone doing it so it must be ok.

There is no excuse for what has been happening over the last few days and it is not due to the current economic cuts.

It started in an area of London which has become a ghetto due to the people living there allowing it - if you see a bag of crap lying on the floor why not put it in the bin - ' because I didn't put it there'.

The rest is mob mentality.

If the limp wristed government do nothing it will continue until the morons get bored:bonk:

I'd also be interested to hear how people honestly felt about the riots in Brixton in 1981 and the Poll Tax riots? Oh, and various assorted May Day Altercations. Maybe some of you were there.

So as a member of TALK and this is the important part PHOTOGRAPHY this is going to be my last post in this thread as it's getting stupid/childish/pathetic and any other derogatory verb you would like to paste in there, I hope this gets :lock: before any more animosity is built up between members.

I'm going to see if I can find some photo's to comment on

now that ive sobered up and calmed down i agree with you - we seem to be building up to our own little riot on TP which is neither big nor clever

I also cant help feeling the irony of some mods calling for calm and asking the membership to behave while you have other mods ranting, raving and using words that would get a normal member suspened

not that i necessarily disagree with the sentiments expressed but its like finding the police engaging in a spot of looting, because hey everyone else is doing it.

its past :lock: :lock: :lock: time imo

Isn't that pretty much what I said? The only bit I didn't bring in was the herd instinct as there was no reference to it in the original text.

People are unable to think for themselves and therefore function by instinct.

I'd agree, he isn't actually condoning their actions but he is saying there is a reason for it i.e. they can't think for themselves and I do take issue with that.

That will be me you're referring to and I agree. I'm out of this thread now.

Don't let them lock it until after dark tonight!

..... I'm pretty certain that if we rush lots of different bits of the forum, the Mods won't be able to police it.

We'll be able to steal everything out of the Classifieds and burn all the photographs in Photosharing and Critique!

They'll never know who done it ... we'll all be wearing Lens Hoods!

:woot:

so some people have had a few disagreements, hardly time to lock the thread.

it actually kinda useful to collate info, ive got friends in various rioting areas and this thread has proved some good info at times.

/gets water cannon.

Bring it boyo :D I aint afraid of hurting feelings :D

Couldn't agree more. That's why we find ourselves in this mess, no one takes responsibility for their own actions. I'm fat because of a medical condition, I stabbed that man to death because my mum wouldn't let me have that toy I wanted, the videogames made me do it. COMPLETE TOSH.

We need to finally wake up and see our justice system is so out of touch with the needs of honest hardworking people. We want to feel safe, we want criminals put away for a decent amount of time in a manner that would deter 99% of people from reoffending.

You have an array of politicians on TV suggesting water cannons are a step too far. We have hundreds of millions of pounds worth of damage, looting in several major cities, what are you waiting for!

Dianne Abbott "we need a curfew not water cannons". Okay come back to me when these thugs ignore your curfew and the lawful populations of these cities have to spend another night in terror.

Theresa May when asked about Water Cannons by the BBC

"No no no, we police by consent in this country"

Well I consent to it, crack on love!

Everyone wants tougher laws etc. Whay arent we getting them?

My household consents including lads of 22, 26 & 28 ...... And 48 lol

I can't believe there's a facebook page setup to encourage a riot in Glasgow on Friday!!
Technology.... It's our future and our downfall.

because that would be dtrimental to peoples "human rights"

bo****s

you break the law, you should be hammered to the full extent of it. But no, even if you're put in prison and they threaten to take away your ps3, that's a breach of human rights....what happened to prison acrually being a punishment?

the PC brigade have a lot to answer for
