If you could buy any camera right now ......

What would you buy?

I'm intrigued as to the motive? ;)

Money no object? D5. Being reasonable... I'm hard pressed to pick between the af of the D500 for indoor sports I shoot vs ff goodness of the D750 for all the other things I shoot. It's tough having GAS and not being able to relieve it!o_O;)

Murder?

If so I assume a big and heavy blunt instrument is needed so I choose a Canon 1D.

If the motive is just to take pictures with then I choose something that'll come out maybe next year. Maybe a Panasonic GX90 with an improved EVF over the current GX80.

I don't honestly know what camera I'd choose as I'm very happy with my current line up and don't have any desire for anything at the mo, at least nothing currently on the market. Ideally I'd like a camera with a D750 body (but with the joystick from the D500), 36mp sensor (for cropping), D5's AF system, and mirrorless speed liveview ;)

Of the current cameras there's nothing in the Nikon range that would make me want to part with my D750 so I'd probably say the XT2 to replace my XT1, although preferably I'd wait for the GSE ;)

I have a Sony A7 and three MFT cameras. I suppose I could be tempted by a Sony A7III or IV if it has the speed of operation of one of the newer MFT cameras which are effectively instantaneous. I could also be tempted by some future RF style Panasonic MFT if they do something about the (IMO) poor field sequential EVF the GX80 has, like take it off, throw it away and fit a better one.

Maybe the GFX 50S, but only because you're imposing no restrictions and I'm intrigued to try it.

Amira with a full set of lenses. Mainly because I know how much I could hire it out for.

What was I thinking, I'd have the Leica M (probably 240) of course ;)

Should try one of the new Fuji's their speed of operation is almost on par with any Nikon I've had.

Probably an Olympus EM1ii as I am fully m43 nowadays but if it was a whimsical gesture then maybe a Leica Q.

Have thought about the Fuji's but on balance they're not for me for the reasons I've stated in the various threads.

For speed my A7 is adequate and probably as fast as any DSLR I've owned (the newest was a 5D, old tech now) but the Panasonic MFT cameras are on a different planet, they really do meter and focus as fast as you can press the shutter button and the focus is very reliable.

Oh, thought about another camera that might be nice to own. The Sony RX1R MK 2 but in reality an A7 makes more sense and is almost as compact.

How I can spend some cash [emoji383]

I've been saving last couple of months and getting itchy feet

lens or new toy

Fuji X-Pro2. Well I just bought it and I am very happy so far :)

I'd buy a proper camera: Leica M6 with a 50mm Summilux...mmm (it can only go up in value) ;)

XT-1 or XT-2 to try ..
If cant get on with them
Canon 6D

Ok something that's within your normal spend limits

You need to up your game here, after starting an open-ended question thread you're supposed to individually quote and address each reply individually.

You'll never dig your way out of a 61% classifieds ratio going about it this way ;)

ok.

My reasoning behind the thread, was to help me make my mind up really.

I have been after a fast long lens, to be more specific the canon 70-200mm f2.8 ll

But I really like the look of The new Fuji Xt2.

Massive indecision moment - The question I keep asking myself which one would i get the most use out of...

so I was just seeing how many people are after the fuji

daft it may seem I know but was seeing what people camera they would by next alongside/ replace there current kit

TBH it's pointless trying to make your mind up based on what other people use, we are all different, all have different wants/needs and all shoot different things. Just get what is right for you (y)

Should have said that at the start really :)

I know - I also was interested what other peoples choices would be!!

If you are going to replace DSLR kit why not dip your toe in the water before you jump to make sure that you're happy with the handling and use of CSC's? XT2's are expensive things so to make sure you're happy you could borrow or hire one or buy something cheaper to try and decide if you'll be happy. The cheaper stuff may not have the ultimate performance of the latest kit but you'll be able to judge if you're happy with the EVF experience and general handling.

I got to hate carrying a Canon 5D about so I bought a new Panasonic GF1 but decided that I couldn't live without a VF and so moved to a cheap used G1 and it was that camera that convinced me that CSC's were the way forward for me.

X-E3. yeah I know it isn't out yet and may never be, but money is an object so what the hell

I'm thinking of using this for street and shooting the kids, but still keeping the 5D :-)
