I treated her to one with a gold ring around the end, not the cheaper red ringed ones that I have to use
how can you gear be tax deductable
It's an asset, you can depreciate ithow can you gear be tax deductable
If you are a plumber you need tools right?
They are a business expense, and hence tax deductible
If you're a photographer you need a camera... same story
Here's the fun bit...
You place your free ad in Yellow Pages, you inform HMRC you are a photographer (part-time) and you complete your annual self-assessment form. Unfortunately, as you've not sold anything, you've made a loss on your gear - hence a tax-saving can be had. If you do sell something, but not much, your income could be offset against your gear purchases and hence you've bought your gear cheaper/free
Or so I'm told - which is my disclaimer on all that !!!

It's so easy to spend it without leaving the houseMy missus was sat with me as I spent it so all is good

I do that, buy things online when she is sat in the room, it's a b****r to explain when you arrive home from work to find the un-delivered parcel ticket though.
