I need a shoulder bag thats large enough to fit just a Fuji X-T1 and grip with a XF18 -135 kit lens attached. The smaller the better. Any idea which bags should fit the bill?
TIA

Looks very nice and everything, would get quite a bit of kit into it, but was looking for something smaller, if they actually exist. Maybe a top loader.

I stumbled across some bag reviews recently, and found it amusing. I mean ... bag reviews?? Ok, show us what you can fit in there, and how tough the material is, if it's WR etc ... but beyond that, these reviews are often about the 'style' of the bag. You want the least stylish one you can find IMO. Also some of the bags reviewed were £200+ and looked like women's handbags! :D

I have 4 bags that I paid good money for and they're gathering dust. They're handy for storing gear, but as they were for larger Nikon gear, they're a bit useless for my fuji stuff [atm] Honestly, the difference between them and the bag I recently got for £30 is minimal. It looks like a fishing bag :D but it's tough, holds a couple of lenses, body [XT-1[ and grip plus a mini tripod, rocket blower, and your usual spares, batteries etc ... It's also water resistant.

I'm not saying to buy that. I think recommending a bag to someone else a bit like recommending your favourite rain mac! It's a personal thing. Don't fall for gimmicks and labels, look to practicality, toughness, and discretion.

I've used this bag since 2009, and it's still going strong! It's been to all sorts of diverse environments and gone through a number of cameras.

It's now out here in Budapest with my X-T1, an 18-135mm and a 35mm lens in it. Also both lens hoods, Flash, spare batteries, a couple of cards, wallet, pens and space to spare :)

Surrounded with zip pocket compartments for more secure items, and always kept my gear safe.

It's only 21.8cm x 15.7cm x 23.9cm. I can slip a belt through the attachment at the back - and have done in the past when climbing mountains. However, now with the 18-135mm, I think it's more likely to pull down my trousers

Specific bag code is NG2343

If this bag is a bit small - there are many different sizes available from NG. Good luck :D

Thanks for the info. You guys obviously must carry around a lot of kit. But for me its all about the bare minimum. But a nice selection non-the-less.

For street photography with an X-E1 & 27/35 I got a Troop bag off eBay and put an insert in it (see @RaglanSurf's post above) This is roughly what I've got as it has a couple of front pockets for keys/phone as well as a slide pocket at the back for a map/bits of paper, or even an ipad. It's about 2/3 the size of my Retrospective and great for a small kit. I can take my X-T1 + attached lens + spare lens and a thermos cup and it's perfect. Not sure how big the 18-135 is but if it's the same size as a 23 & 35 prime next to each other that's fine.
