I also remember going into Task Manager and clicking on the services tab whilst Windows was loading and it was the Avast service which sat at "starting". Might be worth trying in case there's something else there?
Of course it shouldn't, but it certainly does for some people.
Admirable, do you have any external USB drives attached? This slows down my boot-up as I guess Windows must wait until they spin-up and become available. Disconnecting these reduces my start-up by about 30 seconds.
It tells you every file that runs at boot up and how long it takes to load the file. You can switch off or on or opt to delay the start up of the file until after the boot has been completed.
There are many it can't remove but at least that should help you solve the time issue.
Also the biggest improvement could be made by installing a small SSD which will speed up your boot time considerably. My PC takes longer to post than it does to start up windows!
