thats a great idea simon! Very clever! Like it!
Thank you
neat idea on the speed theme, several levels here and i like that.
just looking at some of your other work for your 52 and some great images. You seem to make a good job of the still life shots.
Thanks, I find still life shots easier to fit in to the theme and I can control the image a little easier in the short timeframes
A nice twist on what seems to have been a popular direction of thought this week. Gets a thumbs up from me!
And there was I thinking I had been clever with this, Oh well perhaps next week
As above, nice twist and could almost be an advert for Fifth Gear as you need drugs to watch it
I don't think they'd appreciate it somehow
Catch up time!
Week 4 Street: I like the energy generated in this, Simon. I agree with your learning points, and a bit less (but only a bit!) blur would be acceptable. For me it's still an excellent Street shot!
Week 5 Speed: Very clever double take on the theme.
I like the interpretation, too - and can't think of anything at all that I'd change.
Jean
Thank you twice
Excellent. That is what I call lateral thinking and the execution is absolutely spot on.
Cheers,
of all the drug related takes I think this is the best
(sorry everyone else)
the gear shape is well executed
and plays nicely on the multiple meanings of gear
all in all most excellent!
I'll be honest I hadn't realised the multiple gear link as well
Love it.
Very clever and a perfectly captured image.
Thanks
Love it. Very smart idea. Somebody thought hard for this one
Nope, it was just one of those shots that evolved, I wish I was that clever to have thought of this straight off
Very nice Simon!
Stunning framing and concept - especially the coke/gear mix. Very imaginative. Only small crit would be I would love to see this with some wacky flouro lights in BG or something to give it a club/druggy context rather than still life.
Excellent
I think flouro lights would spoil the Gear Stick top impression this has.
This white powder did seem popular for this theme, nicely done Mate
Indeed it does seem popular this week
I like part two especially the dual refrence to speed.....
Terran
Cheers
clever twist and well executed
Thank you
A clever take on the theme.
That's very very clever Simon and it works on so many levels for the meanings of speed and gear
Your lessons learnt really made me smile - mainly because they're very similar to some of mine. It's also intriguing to see the range of substances that people have used for their speed interpretations this week.
I'm amazed how many people went for the drug theme, I think between us all we must have kept Frank very busy. This is definitely one of the best ones I've seen so far though.
Thank you, Frank has a lot of good stuff on it
I can only repeat what has been said already...That is very clever Simon, nice spot, who needs 5 when you've got 4 (I have no idea).
I believe I am right in saying that fabric absorbs the light.
The fabric I used certainly doesn't reflect light as much as the black side of the reflector, whether that's because the material absorbs the light I don't know.
A very good idea simon with a a bit of a twist. By the way you need to talk to FRANK.
Cheers
Crisp, clean and impactful with a nice twist.
And with a bit of research through talking to Frank!
Makes me less happy with my own effort on the theme, which is always the sign of a good shot.
I'm sorry to have made you think less of your own shot, I'll head over and check it out in a minute, but I'm quite sure you'll have done better than you think.
I tried the white powder but just couldn't get a shot that i thought would be different to other peoples - You've nailed it with gear stick shape which makes it a standout shot
One of the reason I don't look at others shots until I finish mine, I don't want to be put off
Just catching up (finally!) - I really like the street shot, I like the sense of movement, it works for me
Speed's a clever idea too
Thank you
Another very clever shot Simon... That works well on multiple variations of speed.
Cheers
Clever shot - well done!
Phil
Thanks
An interesting shot. Made me look twice to see the different levels in it- speed gear etc. Very clever.
I only saw the speed when I was taking it, the gear reference to drugs only entered my conciousness when I read it on here.
