Yes
One thing that came into my head lately is we focus a lot on security with our phones with PIN and biometric but something I have just become aware of is how easy it is for
someone who steals your phone to simply place the SIM in a new phone and essentially override these things and gain access to you number to use for receiving calls or text to
compromise say a bank transaction, the solution is to enable SIM lock which means if someone tries to do that they are prompted to enter a PIN of your choice when they power up you SIM in a new phone.

worth checking if you have this setup folks.

FWIW

I have followed that protocol since my first mobile phone (or at from the first in the line of phones that had that functionality).

I echo 100% your advice to make sure it is enabled and if, like me anyone has a dual SIM phone, make sure you PIN lock both SIMs

also check you change from the default sim lock code as i found both of our 1pmobile simlock numbers were the same 1210

Yes, I would sincerely hope that anyone on any devices has and will change the default "number" for one of their own choosing.

All of what we are discussing & agreeing on, is surely device security 101 ;)

but 99% of people will not even know about it or use it

Unfortunately for them you might be right :(

PS some people pay huge amounts of money for their smartphones and they treat them like a disposable item .....or so it seems! It makes one wonder are they so cavalier about the security of their other property e.g. house and car???
