Thanks HoppyIt's an extremely capable lens, I shall be replacing my 100-400 with it as soon as I can. I haven't used it in anger with my Canon 1.4x converter but the few shots I took out of my window of a lamp post looked pretty sharp.
The other lens I'd like to see it up against is the Canon 70-200 Mk2, with and without 1.4x.
I'll be using both at footie this weekend with the 1.4x on the Sigma. I'll put a thread up if the shots are good enough!![]()
Good set of sailing pics there Tom, especially No3. I'm doing to opposite to you however and keeping my 100-400 for boat work (off a Rib) for two reasons:
a) The 100-400 is far easier to mange in a boat due to the weight
b) I'd rather have a lighter lens round my neck if I go over!!!![]()
