Pete
That's the one!![]()
i like the idea of the glass cabinet, but does it harm your camera/equipment if you leave them in your back/backpack?
Not at all Stan. The main thing with camera gear is to keep it in a heated/ventilated room such as you'd normally live in or spend a fair bit of of time in. Damp, cold, or humid conditions are to be avoided.
The problem is you tend to eventually outgrow the largest bag and you rarely take it all anyway. The nice thing about this cabinet is you can see the gear easily and decide what you want to take with you on any outing.
I wouldn't habitually just drop your gear in the bag on the floor /carpet though. You can get small mites getting into your gear, not that they're any real threat, but when they're wandering about in the viewfinder they can be a bit distracting.![]()
Here's mine:-

ok, I go out with my bag stuffed full very like this, with the long lens on the camera. Then while I'm are out and about, I change lenses and put a shorter one on the camera ... and the bag is now configured wrong to hold the long lens on its own and the camera with the short lens? How do you resolve that - do you rearrange the velcro compartments, or what?
:bonk: :bonk: Scuse the very dim question, but ...ok, I go out with my bag stuffed full very like this, with the long lens on the camera. You can never have too much storage, especially if you enjoy shooting RAW.
