Both handheld with as wide an aperture as I could use to decrease the shutter speed.

A 1 second exposure is faster than a 2 second exposure so it is an increase in speed but a decrease in duration. The speed of the shutter movement remains the same the exposure is determined by how long it is held open therefore going from a 2 second exposure to a one second exposure is decreasing the duration the shutter is held open.Great photos Nige ..................but how does widening the aperature decrease the shutter speed?
It doesn't. I should have said "increase".Great photos Nige ..................but how does widening the aperature decrease the shutter speed?
