Show us yer film shots then!

@skysh4rk particularly like the long exposure one, and I normally hate those with a passion! Is that a basalt shore? Giant's Causeway or Fingal's Cave (or wherever)?

Thanks, Chris. Yeah, it's the Giant's Causeway. We've gone there for the past few Christmas Eves now. I got absolutely poured on and nearly was blown out to sea this year.

Here are some shots I edited this morning - I'm enjoying doing some portraits, I'd like to do a lot more.

I like the scene in the first image. Quite moody.

Be sure that Mrs skysh4rk has a camera to hand next time:exit: ......It could be one of your best ever photos!!!!!:D:D

oh, and yes I agree that the image of Giants Causeway is pretty cool ;)

That is a real corker, Jonathan. A really lovely image. Is that your LF camera on its side for portrait orientation, or cropped?

Many thanks Chris :) No, the LF camera is upright, as normal. The ground glass and film holder assembly can be rotated so as to hold the film in portrait or landscape orientation without affecting the camera position on the tripod. This has been cropped only to remove the overscan from the scanner :)

@Woodsy both those are absolute rubbish, it's plain to see that LF really isn't working for you and I suggest you give all your equipment away and get a nice digital set up

I'm sorry did I type that out loud? What I meant to say was cracking work Woodsy, you don't take many but when you do you make them count

WHS. Excellent shot and those colours are gorgeous.

Nope, the problem is with my eyes, stupid colour-blindness.

I love shooting in colour but when I scan them in they always have problems. Ant suggestions as to a corrective action with these?

Ta
I think if you try the "auto white balance" option in whatever editor you use then you will get 80% of the way there.

Particularly like the last one ( The Gate) Andy ........You've got the exposure spot on imo ....opened up a couple of stops I presume to ensure the snow came out white?

Well I thought snow was always grey in the black country :D

Spot on mate.

That may well be true Brian but this was about 100 miles north in the Lake District. :D

I had an Ariel in the 60,s showing my age, but, more importantly I was a Mod not a rocker :)

@Andysnap,

I really like the compositions of the first and third chap, really nice stuff!

I hate to nit pick, as really it doesn't matter, but the blacks appear to be in complete shadow. Granted my work monitor is A) uncalibrated, and B) a load of sh..., but the bottom left grass in the first photo is essentially blocked out. Is this a scanning/processing thing or is there any detail in the neg?

Three from the weekend in Langdale. Wista 45 on Fomapan 100.

Andy, I like them all, but, for me the smoke from the chimneys in the first photograph, together with a very good composition makes it the best photograph for me,tells a story, paints a picture, all that stuff.

Very good LF work and liking Fomapan 100 very much.

You are becoming a top man in F&C and your title is well deserved.(y)

Thanks buddy, in actual fact it is a process thing. I wanted a very stark difference between the white snow and some of the foliage, I may have taken it a bit too far though.

Mmm, not sure about that. I do still feel I'm stumbling around in the dark and occasionally getting it right more by luck than judgement but thank you anyway. (y)

While you were knee high to a grasshopper I had a 350cc Ariel red hunter in the 50's :D to me teddy boys looked stupid as well as the mods going around on silly scooters.. Bah humbug ;)

Wuss!:D....Rockers rule!

I recall the first time seeing à sea of green coats and scooters descending on Scarborough when i young child.....my poor grandma was scared half to death ......i found it dead exciting and was somewhat disgruntled when she pulled me away to "safety" !

This is a "man's" machine..my Tiger 110 and wore a leather jacket because it was the right gear for the weather....so I suppose because of that I was classed as a rocker o_O

Here's one from my first time using bounced flash with film during a first dance at a wedding. Proper learning curve but it turns out that colour negative and flash work really well together!

I had a Triumph Thunderbird back in the late 70s.

Maybe it's the shot but that doesn't look like a thunderbird, as the engine and tank don't look right?
I've always had two wheels of some sort from 1956 and still have the 750cc bought in 1984, the 250cc Honda is perfect for pottering around country lanes taking photos.

Definitely was a Thunderbird. Just noticed the pic is flipped horizontally.

Ah........I used to have a Lambretta (shame) and liked it as if you dropped it, your legs weren't trapped and I kept quite dry from wet roads...ideal for work.

That the same house your in now? Looks awfully familiar!

That's about 400 yards away as the crow flies :)
It was taken outside my parent's house.
