Just scanned a roll of PanF which I took on the C220 at the Abbey Hill Steam Rally back in April. All of them are out of focus (focus seems to be a foot or two in front of the subject), but this one is sort of ok, and I really like it anyway so it's still a keeper lol.

Expired T-MAX 400, Rodinal. A few of the ones I liked from a disastrous roll I've mentioned in its own thread.

Got some odd looking bucket that one, and grain for panf, you might have sharpened it a bit though in post if the focus is off, i dunno.
Its got some barrel roll in the bottom corners and the bucket suggests you might have moved a bit, hence it appears to be focus error when in fact it could be movement..:)

just musing, its tough to make a solid analysis when you don't know what happened in post, you can only proffer possibilities..

Hmm that's a term I've not come across before... what is bucket? lol. Yeah I think I have sharpened it a bit but perhaps I went a bit overboard  I don't think I moved as I was focusing on him right up until I pressed the shutter, but I may well have done without realising. Usually if one or two from a roll is OOF then I put it down to user error but the last 3 rolls or so have all been out of focus by about the same amount. This is the camera that I dropped in Paris in January and I think I've managed to knock the focus between the lenses out (well, I assume that's what's happened). Guess I could test this by sticking it on a tripod and putting a meter rule along a table leading away from the camera, and focusing on a certain number. If all the photos come out closer than that then I know the problem. Reckon that's a good way to check?

It's certainly worth a try. I'd try at the working distances you use most- say up to 3.5m ish.

Not a lot of bucket, just a bit pale :)

Carl, you have to check the focus with a ground screen at the film plane versus the focus on the viewing screen.
The focus on the viewing screen should be adjustable by using shims. I think, if it's similar to other twins, there should be four screws holding
the focus screen in place?

Edit
Just found this, p15
http://www.cameramanuals.org/mamiya_pdf/mamiya_c220_pro_repair.pdf

Fresnel screen goes ground face down :)

and page 16 on how to check focus.

Bucket is Yorkshire for Bokeh..:D
yeah, I'm not sure you moved, those spikes are pretty sharp looking at it again, I shoot 100 @ 50 with a red filter, its easy to stop down too far and end up shooting 1/30 or 1/15 without realizing it, I do it all the time.
"This is the camera that I dropped in Paris in January"......ahhh, now that makes sense, there's definitely something a miss, I don't think its just a lag or lead problem with focus, its an 80 so you don't have to sort lens distortion from miss alignment, the bokeh is just odd, the taking lens may not be square to the film plane, it will be tough to match the focus up whilst something else is wonky, but you can try using a ruler or a line of objects or something, a long brick wall maybe a more useful distance scale than the ruler.

outdated few years, shot before my wedding just over 2 weeks ago, developed at home and scanned ;)
havent cleaned it in PS..not sure why I have the line across...who cares :D

Well Lucas the line on the film could be caused by a spec of dirt on the cassette felt or stuck to the pressure plate...sometimes I get it but am not sure if it's my fault or Asda.

Its probably a scanning artefacts its too straight to be the film I'd say. Check the calibration area at the very top of scanner is very clean and rescan if needed.

Will give it a clean
Need to find piece of glass as I have lost my negative holder...

Well we went to Holland for a long weekend at a place called Wassenaar (where the first V2 was launch to London Chiswick) plenty of Brits around as there is a holiday camp not far...h'mm my son's Dutch partner says "you can tell the English from the Dutch" well I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not :D Anyway it's only a short cycle ride to the beach and there were the WW2 dugouts\bunkers which we visited. Another day we cycled to Leiden and a lovely place with bicycles every where and people enjoying themselves.
Everyone speaks English in this part of Holland so no problems in communication.....praise the lord as Dutch is erm sort of double dutch to understand.
All shots:- T70, sigma 24mm (sharp lens) and Reala and with this combo on a sunny, contrasty day and with Asda over sharpening.... it shows.

Dugout tunnels leading to rooms and pitch black without a torch, the guide said he nearly freaked out when he got a bit lost the first time he visited them on his own.

Some shots of Leiden to try and convey the atmosphere of the place:=

Was the film flat in regard to the focussing issue?

Those are very nice indeed.

Hi Ladies and Gents,

Relative newbie in the world of film photography but I thought id share a few snaps from a recent shoot I did for a client.

All shots taken with a Mamiya RZ67 and 110mm lens.

I hope they are to your liking

Nice!

Well that's different Trushar, was it some sort of celebration?

Thanks for the kind words,

I've only shot 2 rolls so far but im really loving the whole organic feel over my 645z. I can't wait to blast off more in the near future.

The images were indeed taken with a portra 400.

It's actually part of a shoot for the mum to be and then the baby when it arrives so that should be exciting on film.

@simon ess. Simon the shot of your cat is brilliant......hé looks to have such an attitude!. Made me lol

:D

He certainly has plenty of attitude.

He's calmed down a lot now he's getting on in years but in his prime he perfected the fine art of extreme violence. He prefers fuss to fighting these days.

Just a couple of more shots of Leiden in Holland T70, Reala and prob Canon 35mm (or 24mm Sigma) Asda with the usual over sharpening:-
Note the row of bikes on the opp side, so less fat people than UK (y) erm well I cycle about once a week and I'm fat ....last year at my son's partners house her parents came to see us on their bicycles and they are over 75. o_O and they own a car each.

What's odd is that motorcycles under a certain CC can use cycle lanes and not wear crash helmets and it's strange when you are cycling (in a cycle lane which is off the road) and a motorcycle whizzes by
