Show us yer film shots then!

Thanks :).

At what speed have you been shooting your Acros? I've mostly been metering at box speed, as I'd read the film could be quite finicky, although some of my results suggest there's some latitude for overexposure.

I've overexposed it 2.5 stops (by accident! brought a lens described as in perfect conditon yet found the it was unable to stop down and was stuck wide open) with no bad effects and when I underexposed it a stop deliberately as well the results were still quite good.

I've been shooting it at box speed and, considering the rolls were a few years out of date, the metering was spot on.

I was loaned a Zeiss Ikon Contaflex by a chap at work to see if it was in working condition so I put a roll of Silvermax through it. Quite impressed with the results, especially from a camera that hadn't been used for 20 years, the meter was spot on.

Here's a few,

Just a little judicious crop here and there and some dust spotting but otherwise SOOC.

Andy,

That is a great test and you should keep the camera. The silvermax looks good, but I do not know the film?

#1 Has great contrast and I like the detail of the wood, metal and plastic, juxtaposed very much a really pleasing shot.

The other three photographs I will comment on together, glad to see you have a modern toilet, with a lock and your grandchildren look wonderful, you must be a very proud granddad. :)

Thank you for your comments Richard.....at this point I would just like to say that you are a cheeky monkey....grandkids indeed, I'm only a slip of a lad yet. The middle one of these 3 reprobates is my son and the other 2 are his pals. Its called 3 Jacks because they all play crown green bowls and the jack is the small wood that you aim at.

Grandchildren....shocking :shake::D

(I'm actually 51 but started late....)

Andy

I tried a rotatation of less than 0.01% and the RH building went mad, so left it as the camera took it, A bit of CS5 and here you have the shot.

Good to know! I'm looking forward to using more Acros over the coming months.

Andy,

Is the Jack white? if so any of the three could be the Jack, no, only kidding for young lads to play crown green is just wonderful, it shows that our heritage will live long into the future.

And as for 51 or you sure about that or was it you last exposure level. :)

I believe I may have been over exposed for a while now.

This is the first of two shots from a roll of Velvia 50. This was my first time using it in anger and trying to balance the exposure with filters (lees rock), tough going and I may get a small handheld meter to try and compensate with.

.

I love the soft dreamy quality to this, and the beautiful contrast between the yellows and blues. Maybe it could have benefited from being taken at a fraction of a lower angle so that the flowers were directly against the sky, removing the narrow strip of land separating them?

Thanks, I am pleased with it. I like the idea of the lower angle as it would help to separate out the flowers further.

I have a few more from this field to scan in tonight:)

I think I'm now getting to grips with the Fuji GW690, much happier with the results from the latest 3 rolls.

Whats the difference between this thread and the Photos from Film section? Do you get more critique there? Not posted there before but cross posted this one, my daughter taking a break from filming a school project;

I didnt even know there was somewhere else to post film pics

Mark, I'm glad you pointed out that this was for a school project as the bruises look very realistic.

This makes this a very powerful and disturbing photograph. The venue chosen is perfect with evidence of decay on the wall and debris on the floor, and has just the right DoF as to not distract from the image.

Your daughter has posed perfectly too... a detatched stare that suggests a disconnect between reality and what she has experienced as if she is anaesthetised to it.

This could easily be a photo for an anti abuse campaign.

Top work

Mark, basically this thread is just for showing off and the photos from film forum is for shots you would like critique or help with.

I like this one BTW, very realistic bruises.

oops...didn't realise that....apologies to anyone I've offered unsolicited critique to in this section.

Well basically Andy....but Mark the mod set the rules a few days ago, and here is what he said:-

"Here's how it goes - you post a picture, and accept feedback, positive or negative, technical or artistic."

A very nice mixed set there Nick, love the weir and the horse especially.

Thanks Andy. Really liking your work with the Silvermax. I've only run one film through so far and I'm still waiting to get hold of some of the Silvermax developer to see how much difference it makes.

And regarding forum comments on this and any others I am fairly thick skinned so happy for good or bad!

Lovely shot. I had similar inspiration but couldn't find a cheval. Not quite sure what I did find......

Mark

Marvellous, they're so photogenic.

I'd be very happy if I'd taken this. A perfect promo shot for a theatre or film production or as Steve said as an anti abuse poster.
