Show us yer film shots then!

Love that escalator shot LLoyd, my type of candid street image. Lots going on, and great use of lines.

Yup, not a fan. Grain is too obtrusive (Fomapan renders a better look if I wanted grain), detail is usually only so-so, the tones are far inferior compared to, say, any of the Fuji Neopan films... not sure why it's so popular!

:plusone: - never got any results i've been overjoyed with, with HP5. Used it lots in 35mm with lots of different developers and just blaahh. Got better results with Tri-X, Neopan and even FP4 pushed carefully.

I'm a big fan of FP4, very consistent, great tones, grain thats visible but just visible, for artsy grain, i tend to push tri-x.

Here's some of Battersea on FP4 in Perceptol. Hasselblad 500CM. 80mm.

Now, I really, REALLY do like that one... Gets me on both fronts - as a photographer AND as a cyclist. Just looking at it gave me the itch to ride down that bit of road myself.

That stretch of road is one of the busiest through Monaco..........very much a "right place @ right time" capture.

Funny thats the same reaction I had. Then I looked at the merging lanes and got shivers! Great shot Asha.

Yeah - guessed as much - probably why it had the appeal - it reminded me of 6am starts to long training rides in warmer climates, back in my yoof ;)

......yes you do need eyes in your  ..everywhere!:D :D

I cycle too and be assured some of the road systems are simply not designed to benefit those of us using pedal power:gag: ....to be fair though if you're confident and respectful on the road then most motorists will appreciate the fact and offer some leeway......even in France!!!:D

I find that big white lump of wall/pillar on the left of the frame really distracting, it keeps drawing my eye away from the rest of the picture.

Was this HMS Liverpool in Liverpool? If so when was it taken ?

I can't remember :( It's very possible as it was docked sometime earlier that year and I think it took me a couple of months to finish the roll of film.

Mark, did you take those mono portraits? Really lovely, especially the first!

Well you're definitely doing better than I did with your Delta 400, Mel. Bit crowded but very nice.

I don't understand why my sig turns up sometimes and not others!

it shows up once in a page of entries, and only after you've typed a certain number of words (don't ask me how many, i've never been bored enough to test it!)

It's to stop the thread getting cluttered by one word replies with a MAHOOSIVE signature block

Aha, thanks Mark!

Those 3 are great! Such a classic feel! Shots like those make me want to shoot colour film lol

Hassy again.. Delta 400 in perceptol.

Really liking these busy station vistas, the shot has great dynamism and shouts out 'we are all in too much of a hurry!'

Really great shot, I love the layers of buildings and the solitary human, a strong and well composed decisive moment!

Thank you, yes, B&W were mine, colour shots were taken by my father.

I am scanning my way through my childhood at the moment and there are some great motor racing shots so will post some more later.

While I always use Asda I think they quite often over do:- contrast, brightness and saturation and nearly always have to adjust in Photoshop....Nice shot but IMO needs adjusting.

Lukas they are very nice' I didn't see that mural thing: good spot! The colour colonnade for me...

Slighty over-exposed, I think.... but it was guesswork as the light meter in my Chinon CS is knackered...

Taken on cheap Kodak Colorplus, because it was a just a test of the camera, really, but this one stood out to me.

A couple from the venerable fed2, this time loaded with an non period Industar 61 lens. I really enjoy this camera, I have no idea why I like it so much.

2: That band in the bottom of the frame is the wall I was using as support. Timing was counted in seconds, one elephant, two elephant, three elephant....and a bit..

Thanks for the comments Brian and yes I do agree about the hit and mis output from Asda scans, cheap and cheerful but with some work to do. The colours are quite garish, a bit like e the colours on the painters canvas! I think I might rescan myself and see what I come up with.

Quite a lot of contrast in these but I like them, particularly drawn to the detail that you've captured under the arches of the bridge in the first one.

Hope you don't count "elephants" outloud....youn never know who's listening nor what they think of you!! :cuckoo: :D
