Show us yer film shots then!

HUH! a fool and his money are soon parted, anyway you can fit a scanner on a shelf under or above your working space........and also any of my cameras would beat a pinhole camera for quality :)

A few from my first two rolls in 5 years. They're poorly printed (by others) and scanned from prints (by me). I'll scan the negatives once I've retrieved my negative scanner from my dad.

First time I've ever taken the camera off full auto mode as well! What do you think?

Welcome to the forum TopBanana, the two images of the girl are really nicely caught and it will be interesting to se them again when you have got your neg scanner back.

AS for scanners I have two scanners both good names and one using Silverfast Ai software. Even with all that it is some times a case of trial and error to get a good scan time after time. Personally I would not even use the £50 ones as a door stop. (unless it was a used cheap Epson or maybe a Canon)

Hi Tim,

Pics are a bit small for this time in the afternoon for me - y'are allowed 800pixels along the longest side.

Note to self: Must not comment on model :lol:

1 and 2 I like as they stand... 3 needs a bit of a lift with levels so we can see her cute (sorry! sorry!) face.

So, no, you certainly didn't naff it up taking the camera off full auto! :p

I've edited the post so that the pics are bigger.
The 'model' is my very very lovely wife, so I think her face is cute as well!
 
just thought of a prob. fuji 160s - do you guys set the iso to 200 and then compensate exposure with +0.7 ?

oh yes...I'm a 100f man myself, but..

a first look at a 6x6 slide is guaranteed to knock you on you're arse.

you've had it now...:lol:

My small contribution was to shoot film rather than going digi :D

These are from the Saturday.

Pentax SP 500, Prinzflex Auto Reflex 200mm 1:3.5, Fujicolour 200 Dated 2009. Tesco Dev and CD.

Exposure/Speed decided on the fly using the F16 rule.

But in reference to photography as Starastin says its a positive, or transparancy or slide film :D

As promised/threatened :) some of my EOS efforts from the Sunday at the Lytham Battle of Britain weekend.

Canon EOS10, Sigma 75-300mm 1:4.5~5.6 Fujicolour 200 Dated 2009. Tesco Dev and CD.

The first one was AV priority, after giving myself a good slap :D I went onto full manual estimating exposure by the F16 rule, having decided I wanted a shallow depth of field it was F5.6 at between 1/1000 and 1/2000 depending on the clouds.

A certain idiot ;) had forgotten to pack a lens shade for the 75-300 so there was definitely some flare/loss of contrast on some shots.











I did take the automatic only EOS 850D for a second outing. I wasn't happy with the results. It may be OK for landscapes but it can't cope with heavily backlit people. So it's definitely going in the drawer or to a charity shop.

This was the best of the bunch.

For my part the weekend was really useful in that I took the cameras out knowing in advance there would be something interesting to shoot with a mixture of static and moving targets which would get me more used to the bodies and lens and force me to think about exposure, DOF etc.

I did shoot another roll on the Sunday which had more GIs and Brits but lost it all to what looks like some sort of shutter problem.

There are a few more Brits and Russkies in the larger selection of my pics from the day here:

It was quite funny that in the Living History displays the nasty Nazis and the over paid, over sexed and over here Yanks were the most active, while the Russians lounged around chaotically and the Brits stayed out of the sun endlessly brewing up :D

That's one of the best pics I've seen in a while! Top job there.
 
Starastin, which camera did you use for those shots? It might just be me, but the frame sizes seem a bit irregular i.e. the leftmost image is more square than the one next to it.
 
you can see it overlapping a bit . wasn't used to the camera, as I've mentioned - it was the first roll so I didn't know that it did that. the camera was Kiev 60 .
 
Aha, now you mention it, I see it. Kiev 60s are notorious for the overlapping. I used to have a 6C (pretty much the same thing but left-handed :thinking:) and I found that to prevent the overlapping, one had to be very careful with the film winding i.e. ensure winding is done in a single, steady, smooth, not-too-fast stroke of the film advance lever.

got my first roll today. God I love film. Might even drop the digital and get a scanner, tanks etc instead :)

this is an expired, non pro fuji, from some time ago. still have about 4 unprocessed. none of them are numbered, so it was exciting to see the shots.
this roll was all snapshots in the house, just messing around

sorry about the WM, but it's there to stay unfortunately. too many thief's around.

I have mental problem ! :lol: since I've seen my pics badly photoshoped without my permission, can't help the WM unless it's very important to not put it on or it's just a useless snap :)
 
Sorting through some camera stuff and came across this photo i took in the early 80s.
Taken at the Albert Hall of Gary Mason fighting Tyrrel Biggs.

I was sitting in the back row of seats, and the security saw i had a camera bag with me warned me not to take any photos, so i had to hold the camera
down on my lap and when they was not looking my way, take the shot from the hip, could not risk lifting the camera to eye in case i got spotted.
out of a roll 24 i think i got about 4 just about useable shots.
Taken with a Minolta 5000af and a cheapo sigma 70-210 lens, no flash, think the film was kodak gold/iso200 and the camera just set on auto.

Not a great photo i know, but it bought back memories for me
