Show us yer film shots then!

Can't argue with the price....or the pictures.

Is that your camper, the picture could have been shot in 1982..

My thoughts exactly, and I spend lots of time trying to take pictures that look old... it's getting harder to find subjects that don't have at least *some* modern influence - even if it's just round bales or something :(

An orange filter and b/w is coolz..

I agree - anything that can make that hideous grey boxy monstrosity they've just built in the second shot look better gets my vote... May have to have a wander around there myself one of these days

Another from the 50e and Kodachrome. A frozen a couple of months ago:

Here's some test shots done with my Mamiya RB67.

RB67 & 50mm f/4.5 C with Velvia 50. Used a newly acquired Minolta Auto Meter IV F for metering (thanks Joxby).

RB67 & 90mm f/3.8 with Velvia 50. B+W ND 110 filter used (added 1.5 stops on top of the 10 stops and was still underexposed on the tranny).

Stunning photography, really makes London look great.

Lovely tones. Very smooth looking film. A guess, is it FP4?

Yep FP4, they would have been even smoother souped in ID-11 instead of ilfosol 3.
I've been in deep dust spotting, the grain is stronger than I want but it looks ok in a 550 sq pixel digi file.

1940's weekend in Howarth, 15th & 16th May is a great opportunity to retro shoot..:)

Oh I dunno, I quite like the contrast, I'm just glad it doesn't look like apartments with mock wood panelling and such.
I'm not going again till its open, there's a half chance I might not be dead..but I will be the wrong side of 75 in 40 years time..

How much exp comp do you need on an orange filter? Is it a full stop?

I shot 125 at 50, exposure was pretty good across the roll, maybe a shade over for some with big reflected sunlight.
I dunno what the deal is with an orange filter, whether the the exposure factor differs with manufacturer..

Reciprocity fail is a b****r.
Those are great looking slides btw, be interested to know what the exposure times were, velvia 50 is meant to get colour casts at anything over a second, its why I use 100F for long exposures.
The first one has no cast at all, or at least its very good, the second if it has a colour cast, is a great looking cast..

Might see if I can make Howarth this weekend. If you see a man fiddling with his Nikkormat say hello.
I went to a 40s weekend in Norfolk some years ago. It was a scorching Sunday afternoon on a period farm, very low key with landgirls and pilots chatting, old farm equipment and vehicles. Almost eerily evocative.

I finally managed to get my pictures scanned better so thought I'd post them up again.

This is a fantastic sunset, we were coming back from France on Thursday 15th April and the sunset was beautiful, we didn't know at the time that all this had been caused by the Icelandic Volvano, as we had been travelling all day. this was taken into the sun with an old cracked Summicron, TBH I was really expecting it to be flared like crazy!

The lines on the negative are on most of the pictures and I'm sure it was the developing machine at the Morrisons where I had them developed that caused it, unless anyone knows another way of them getting there?

Chances are it was a processing scratch, very annoying and completely unnecessary. It's possible your camera is doing it so it's worth a look-see or there may have been grit in the felt light trap on the cassette.
The only way to be sure is give the camera a brush out and put another film through. Tell Morrissons what happened before you give them the next film.

These are all on Velvia 50, dated 2007 which was kept in a freezer/fridge for most of it's life, afaik.
No. 1 is 90 secs, in almost darkness.
No.2 is 120 secs at dusk with a B+W ND110 filter. The slide came out darker than this but I've tried to keep the colour balance.
No. 3 is about 30 secs in late evening light. Again, the slide was darker but I've tried to keep the colour balance.
No. 2 & 3 aren't as saturated as the (underexposed) film originals but I feel they represent the colour balance on the film.
One thing to consider is that I go to Metro Imaging for my E6 processing so I think it's about as good as it can get. It's not that I'm precious about the film processing it's just that they are 10 mins up the road from where I work and I can get them done in a couple of hours ;)

This is an old shot, around 1980, taken looking down Cockburn St in Edinburgh. It was taken on Agfachrome which was a favourite of mine around then. Seem to give slides a warm, almost brown cast...

Agfachrome? I used to use that all the time back in the day.

Tried scanning some stuff awhile ago but found it tricky to get the contrast and grain right.
Will have to have another go in the next couple of weeks.

Pale Blue S reg Cortina? certainly dates it

A shot from a road trip up to Torridon at the weekend. Olympus Trip 35 loaded with Kodak Ultra 200 Film. £1 per 24 shot roll from Poundland:thumbs:

Nice pics and a definite period snapshot feel to them. On the back of your suggestion I've stocked up at Poundland, do you know if it's end of line stock or do Kodak still make the film? Mine is branded Kodak Colour Plus 200, dated till June 2012.

The film I got is Kodak Color Plus, 200ASA, 24exp. The batch I got is dated 01/2011. Good film.

Last time I was in, they also had Solaris 200 which was not bad. A bit grainier, but it was £1 and that was for a 36exp roll:nuts:

This is the Solaris 200

Well I was expecting some ghastly green hue of some type or other virtually destroying the slide......looks fine to me..
We must be lucky having a decent local lab, I'm not precious either, its simply more convenient to physically drop off and pick up the same day, than post out.

Blimey..I can name em..

Bedford van
VW dougal van
Maxi or Austin 1800
MK4 Cortina
Marina
MK5 Cortina
That yellow thing is some kind of Fiat ??
Opal Kadette
Capri
Volvo 244
Mini
:)

Yellow thing's a Lada? Prolly a Fiat back then though. I think the Volvo is a 144DL actually...

this is sad... :(

Yellow things rear engined so not Lada. I'd wager quite a few pounds or cameras on it being a Simca 1000.

There's a Sherpa in front of the VW camper and I reckon the car in front of the Volvo is a Capri.

Can't be a Simca... it's not moving

A trip up to Skye a couple of weeks ago. This is Kodak Ektar 100 film taken through the Xpan. Processed by Peak Imaging and then scanned this afternoon at 2400dpi on an Epson V500. A fine film. This is near the Skye Bridge looking back at the Cuillin.

OK folks here's a few from my first trip out with the Oly OM10 with the only lens I had at the time a Zuiko 50mm f1.8. I'm pretty pleased with the results although as usual the versions on here don't look half as good as the actual prints. Shot on Ilford HP5, processed by Jessops and uploaded from disc.

1. A stream near Warmingham, Cheshire.

2. Long Forgotten. Gravestone in St Mary's Church, Whitegate. Messed about in PS to get an aged effect, does it work?

So, all in all I'm pretty happy with the Oly, for £17 including the lens its done alright.

Cheers

A couple from yesterdays walk around spurn point...

there's one more on my Flickr, but I can't post it in here, as i'm using it for this months competition, and it can't be posted elsewhere on TP until after the comp. and voting

All shot on my Holga WPC120 with Red Filter, on Delta 100 and developed in Ilfosol 3, 1+14. Scanned on Canoscan 8800F with Silverfast SE software.

I've been doing my best to learn how my scanner works and generally playing around, I'm not quite there but I seem to be getting reasonable results when using Colorneg. Unfortunately the sRGB colour space is giving some of my scans a horrid time, it just seems to oversaturate everything :(. I couldn't get this particular photograph to work in sRGB but strangely when exported from Lightroom the results were more reasonable. It's a poor shot but I thought the sun rays looked cooooooooool.

Pentax 67
105 f/2.4
1/8th at f/16 (welcome to mirror slap)
Fuji Pro 160s poorly metered at 125

Both the borrowed body and the lens were absolutely battered but I completely fell in love with it, I now have my very own :D.

Guy mate, those shots are bloody outstanding! Seriously nice work there chap.

I was about to post a few taken on velvia as well, but think I'll leave it for a while now :D

Just out of interest, is there any reason you went for Velvia 50 over 100F? Aside from the extra stop of exposure time that is.

Velvia 50

Loving my new 50mm f1.4, the colours are so nice. The out of date veliva was giving some strange colours.

Thanks Woodsy, I've replied to your PM ;) Only reason for choosing Velvia 50 is because I already had some :)

Nice one Javier :)

The second one had an attempt at using Duo Tones in PS, mimic toning

These shots were taken nine years ago and the film was in the camera until last year, I then forgot about the film and had it developed at Tesco's last week. The film was a cheap mail order lab film 200 Asa. Camera used Canon AT-1
