Show us yer film shots then!

Hey zeroeseight - congrats on the shoot, you've done a brilliant job there. I'm particularly impressed with no. 2 - the very high key lighting adds a sublime dimension that I don't think would have translated quite so tastefully with a digital camera.

I prefer the first two myself, I prefer them for their composition and model pose, as well as the colours and general look. Never was a fan of Ektar myself and I am guessing the first two are Portra.

Cheers Wilson. Can you not save those curves for a particular film and re-use them or is it not that accurate?

You could reuse the curve for the film base colour on frames on the same roll, or a starting point for other rolls of the same type. The grey balance one only if the lighting is similar I would guess.

zeroeseight those last 3 are great which im guessing is ektar.. was this 35mm or 120?

Cheers, 1 and 3 are Ektar, shot on 120 645.

I agree, the last three are wonderful.

Thanks.

Cheers. I have a Fuji S5 Pro, but I didn't take it to the shoot so who knows :)

zeroeseight - like the last three aswell. could be seen in a magazine or elsewhere.

I'm a big fan of Ektar 100. A few years ago, I would never have considered anything but a slide film, but this stuff really is a game changer.

This is a shot I took last week of the summit of The Cairnwell in Glenshee with my Hasselblad Xpan, 45mm lens, and Kodak Ektar 100...

Even for the 'greens' it is superb. This is a 120 roll of Ektar 100 through the Bronica.

Nice shots but the dog picture has a green cast on my monitor.

I've adjusted it slightly in the last edit. Thanks for that:thumbs:

Good to see Javier over here as well - I was beginning to wonder if he posted anywhere else on the Forum...

Like the 'phone' shot but I'd have liked to see you go in tighter with that one - really concentrate on the grunginess of the thing...

nice shots Javier, there's plenty of Ektar on this page isn't there! Im waiting for my next roll to come back from club 35 before I decide on if I like it or not. Who processes yours ?

Thank you. I have mine processed by the 1 hour lab at Target. The thing to remember is to tell them NOT to do any pp to the images and set the machine in neutral. Other than that, I may tweak the contrast and that is about it.

A couple of Ektar from me all taken at a show last weekend on a Yashica 124. Commercialy deved and scanned no PP.

test shot on my new mamiya c330f; 80mm f2.8 sekor lens. Really love this camera.

I used an unknown developer so guessed the timing, and there was no fixer. Result was a cloudy (almost opaque) negative. No scanner either so took a picture of the neg infront of a lamp.

Shame about the result, but the impact of the portrait overpowers any developing shortcomings - excellent shot there Rick.

Knikki, love the one of the seats - colour translation on the Ektar is great.

Interesting mix of photos Javier - makes me want to get away to the coast this weekend - hope the weather here in London holds up :)

^^^ reminds me of the kind of shot's I used to get back from Boots with a big sticker on them  Didn't they KNOW I was trying to be all arty

For some reason I put these in their own thread instead of here. Anyway these are from last weekend in Norn Iron. Olympus OM-10 and Zuiko 50mm on Fuji Superia 200. Again the actual prints are so much better than these awful scans, must look into a better way.

St Malachy's Belfast. This had very little colour anyway so I de-saturated it. Sorry.

Any c&c is welcome. I think I prefer this film to the previous Fujicolour 400, seems a much better result.

Cheers

I'm now reading the WHOLE thread - but its taking forever to upload and refresh at 1MB

only on page 7 of 72....:bang:

could we start a new thread as of 01-01-2010 with a link back to previous years..?

I doubt if any action needs to be taken on posts before then....cheers

love the dynamic range on this shot. great expressions too, everyone looks flustered apart from that dude checking out the tits on that poster

Anyway, here is some kodachrome. I'm having trouble getting good scans from it, but I don't think I'm alone there.

?? I dont want the thread closed....

just an extra thread to show all the posts since [say] 01-01-2010.

this would save wait ages to load 72 pages just to read a post done today

Another couple of home processed C41 shots -

That is one weird sculpture, it makes me uncomfortable knowing I'm attracted to it.
Its very definitely female in form but....with a rabbits head...:suspect:

Anyway these are from last weekend in Norn Iron.

Some of these look slightly over contrasty, that first one is very pink.
I like the coloured boat one.
I dunno, I don't shoot colour neg but they seem to be inaccurate colours and there seems to be some conflict with sharpness, maybe they are just slightly dodgy scans.

Had a go at sharpening this ^ but on closer inspection I think you shot wide open, sharpening it made it look poop because there is hardly any sharp to sharpen...
Nothing worse than sharpened oof and bokeh..
I've got some great scans from kodachrome recently, I haven't posted any because I reckon I blitzed 2 rolls with virtually 72 nothing shots...
