Whilst I have my digital shots from a recent scotland trip in the landscapes section, I thought I'd post a few results from my film shooting on the trip :)

Thoughts appreciated as always :)

#1 and #2 are absoloutely stunning, #4 - is that Elgol Bay, Skye?

All in all a lovely set of shots from Mr POTY 2009

I take it these were from the RB67?

Hehe, thanks guys :)

I am most pleased with the first two, followed by #4. Which is indeed the elgol bay on Skye. It's just a bit of a sham that I couldn't take the same photo on all three films, as I still don't know what film I prefer! I think ektar has it by a wisker...

Some b&w to come soonish

thanks again for the comments :)
EDIT: Sorry, yes they were indeed taken on the RB67

Looks to be settling in nicely there Richard, some nice shots.

My latest batch of Ektar 100 seem to have come out a lot better than the previous, thank goodness for that! Seems it was just my terrible exposure technique last time

Amazing shots from Scotland agains Woodsy, amazing

I think we might have to ban you from north of the border, at least until I get another chance to head up there

Love the Glen Coe shots on your flickr as well, especially the first sunset one

Some older ones now that I've found the CDs with all my scans on them..

Many thanks chap, appreciate it :) I have to be honest, when I was in scotland I was convinced I had come away with nothing... just goes to show that seeing them on the big screen can change things :)

Shot these in the station before going home one day and thought they came out nice :)

That first shot must have given your metering system nightmares. It has turned out very nicely though.

Taken in 1988 on an OM1n of Southbridge in Northampton, taken from the area next to Carlsberg brewery, I don't think you can get access to this stretch of the river anymore. Looking at the top of the frame I think I needed the light seals doing!

Great shot Rick, and nice that the Polar Bear got invited to the wedding too ;)

Haha thanks Nick. I'm loving the grain in your shot and nice touch getting the Floorshakers graffiti on the bridge in the background too.

Are those light leaks on the film? If not it maybe be the scanner's light coming through the film's sproket holes

These are fairly low res scans of some of my first dips back into the filmic sea :)

All taken on my secondhand RZ67 Pro II which I purchased late last year; using either a 127, 180 or 250 lens; and at the monthly Film club at Arc Studio in Preston.

Film type details with the full size images and three more examples in my gallery.

Hopefully, future images will be more open to "artistic" input and less dependent on the "desperately trying to remember how this film stuff works" element :)

Unfortunately they've always been there, even when I used to hand print from this neg back in the 80's. I was going to PS them out but they've become part of the shot for me now.

Actually that looks like you're doing too much agitation when dev'ing the film...streaks like that are a dead giveaway - I occasionally got them and thought the same as you - light leak...But it's not that at all... the sprocket-holes 'channel' the dev across the film and thus you get these characteristic streaks.
When they say 'invert' every 30 sevs, it means 'just invert' - I used to give the tank a slight swirl and a tap to dislodge air-bubbles as well and it was this that caused these streaks to appear...
Once the initial 45 secs of dev are done, all bubbles will have been dislodged anyway...

Interesting, it was early days in my dev'ing career, I think I'm a lot calmer now when I process my films than I was back in the 80's and I don't remember the sprocket holes showing up on any more of my negs back then and I've long since sold my OM1n.

A few from me, first time out a film camera properly...an old Canon AE-1, with a vivtar 28mm lens & 50mm prime! I should have another load soon as I filled another film over the last two weeks.

...and now you know why we all used to have red, green, blue, orange and yellow correction filters for B&W...lol

A yellow-orange was the usual 'on-all-the-time' filter for general B&W shots...

Look at those carrots - they're almost glowing!

That's because they help you to see in the dark :cuckoo:

You do have a good point, I just like messing around with a film camera as it makes me think about the photograph more

Those are very good, its obvious they're not your first film foray into glam portraiture.
Its like riding a bike, you just have to knock the dust off, oil the joints/wotnot...
Last ones a shade hot but it feels a bit tight to complain..

Heres a couple from me and my Nikon f301 on Kodak Gold both from Dunham Massey on Monday. Not sure I like the Kodak film as much as the Fujicolour 200 I used last time.

Overall I was a bit disappointed with the results, don't know why but I seem to be just pointing and shooting and hoping they come out. Should have a Nikon F90 tomorrow so will get a roll of b&w and a roll of colour and go out and TAKE MY TIME not rush around like a dog with 2 d......

Here are some from today - my first foray into Slide film.

Apart from the fact that my scanner is rubbish, I dont know how to use it well either. So most of the scans came very soft, sort of like out of focus. I then sharpened it a lot, made the size smaller and uploaded it. Somehow, it looks much darker - and uglier - here than on the slide. Anyway, excuses over, here they are.

Note to Nick : I did deliver, didn't I?

A really nice set and you have chosen lots of shapes and textures that suit Black and White so well
