Show us yer film shots then!

Judging at how curly the neg went a small library would be required:)

These are the number one contenders I guess, I wonder has anyone just bought a piece of AN glass and tried that?

You could always try getting a piece of non-reflective glass cut from a local framing shop. I have not tried this myself but have seen that others have found this to be an effective and cheaper option than true AN glass.

Asha, were those colours as you remembered them? Just had a feeling they weren't quite right for the South of France, apparently not too late in the day (from the shadows). I guess I'm really wondering whether the scanning has produced any colour distortions; I found Fuji C200 (rumoured to be the basis of Agfa Vista) a pig to scan!

Excellent shots Asha, really evocative.

Proper like them Asha!

Glad you guys like em.....I'm quite enjoying my C41 stage. I doubt I will do colour all the time as I do have a very soft spot for b&w, however an odd film here and there and then batch dev them pretty miuch all at once may be in order.

For the moment, the tetenal kit is going surprisingly strong.....I initially mixed up only a third of the concentrate which having just devd another two rolls, has now done seven 35mm films (mostly 200 iso). Given that the instructions states approx 12 - 16 rolls for the whole kit it seems I'm getting more than my monies worth!

Hi Chris,

No they are a touch red ( as if it were heading towards last light of day)....as it was these were taken about 1500 in the afternoon.

To be fair though the colours aren't too far out from "reality".

When I devd my very first C41 film, all the shots had a red tinge which i rectified in PP.
I was unsure wether it was a scanner issue or a temperature problem in the deving process, bearing in mind i am doing this C41 in a very amaturist way with washing up bowls of water topped up with hot water to try and maintain a consistent 30°C.

Without any doubt whatsoever there are temp fluctuations beyond what is typically acceptable for the process and having now devd succesive films where some frames have a red tinge yet others have spot on colours resembling the original scene, I do believe that the error comes from temperature.

All this said, I do my photography for fun and although I endeavour to capture the "perfect shot" as it were, I am nonetheless very pleased with my achievements.

If I had the "correct" set up for it all, I suspect i could obtain results resembling "lab quality" ......but hey it's good to be different isn't it?!! lol

South of France? I will be in Nice tomorrow morning! What is the weather like?

Err heavy rain and thunderstorms....we only get approx 30 wet days a year ....what bad luck for you.

A work visit or holiday??

Couple of very nice shots there osh...I particularly like the 2nd one

Here's another from me from that roll of superpan that would not spool onto the dev spiral.....the scratches apparent on most of the frames do nothing but remind of the sweaty frustrations in the changing bag! lol

Like a lot of people who end up homeless, this guys luck in life fell flat....such a pleasant guy with a talent for art too using everything from crayon and paints through to threads and sequins......If I catch up with him again, hopefully i'll have some colour film to shoot his work.

Lots of lovely interesting things in there mate......

Here's one from Scotland in 2011 on my now sadly sold on (why oh why did I sell her) Voigtlander Bessamatic R3A and Nokton 40mm f1.4 lens on Kodak Ektar.
The original shot had really over-exposed the water so I ran it through Topaz b&w with a the transparency slider right over to let as much of the colour back through and I was really amazed at how much detail there was in both the highlights and shadows.

Osh I absolutely love that first one!

Osh. Love those squares. Hard to beat Velvia for this kind of shot, but Portra is holding its head up high.

Andy G,

Thanks for showing me what I have to look forward to, very well captured shot, love the spirit of the water.

not mine though..Ag£a Vista from my F2

I love that Porsche shot! I need to do that kind of thing for my current college project(movement).

Also today was my second time ever developing B&W in my college darkroom. Got some amazing negs, both 35mm and 120, will scan soon and show off, super excited!

Thank you, I could do with some darkroom excitement, it's been years since I wet printed.

Ohh trust me I'm hooked now, first one was a failure due to some very old developer but this time it came out fantastic, according to my teacher I've got some perfect negatives for prints/scan.

Of course not all photos are keepers but the sheet excitement of looking at the exposures after taking it out of the fix is crazy.

Okay I'm so excited i couldn't wait, so i took photos of the negs with some light diffused with paper under them and inverted some (terrible idea makes them look horrific)

Taken on Lubitel 166.

This one was with Smena 8, which developed a sticky shutter mid way and some photos are overexposed big time

( I know the quality of a picture of a picture is terrible but I don't have a scanner)

Welcome back home Mel, how was the trip?

Cezar, I think you may mean that you have posted Di***al photo,s:), however your excitement has for me presented photograph,s that I think are very exciting in there presentation and effect.

Well done indeed.

osh - great stuff on the velvia 50 once again! particularly like the first

Thanks! Yes, I think I'm starting to get the hang of Velvia...

will drop a roll of £1 film at snappy to get it developed....was trying to make long exposures...one was around 50sec :)
I do hope I did all calculations right ;D

:agree: .....like them lots....something different and for me works well.

Skysh4rk - great colours. Really like the rail bridge shot.

Mel - that's a beauty. Great tones. That one strand of OOF grass sticking up from the foreground is a little distracting but doesn't spoil a great picture. What film did you use?

Cheers, Des. I was given the film last week, but had no idea how it'd been stored, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found that there weren't any really crazy colour shifts. I opted to shoot it at iso 64 and it seemed to do the trick.

I haven't posted in a while, so here's one from a shoot I did yesterday:
