Show us yer film shots then!

Love the lighting, very classic looking shots. Maybe a touch more light in the first one would've been nice (we're talking like a 1/3rd of a stop additional tops).

thanks :) i should of put a hair light on the first one. But it was my first roll of Pan-F , usually go for Delta 100, but this is lovely.

A recent play around with ND filters produced this:

91300564.jpg

Shot on Rollei Superpan 200.

Sadly the film was a pig to get on the dev spool ( not something I generally have a problem with but just shows that regardless of experience, occasionally basic problems come along and bug us!).... hence many frames have scratches etc.

Tbh this has got off reasonably well I think although there is some dust/debris visible.

Tempted to get cloning to remove as I do like the result, so much so I may print it.

Bare with me - having pic hosting issues! Edit: should be up again. Please post if they arent!

I said goodbye to my Pentacon Six last year as I found the costs of film too prohibitive for a part time hobby. :'( These shots are a couple from the last roll I put through it during a visit to Brighton (FujiChrome Provia 400X) & a few of my fav shots.

Brighton Pier - a 'feel' that takes me back to visiting as a kid in the 80s.

They really do have a 1970's feel to them. Number 3 is a cracker, very American Gothic although I would have liked it to be centred. I'm sure compulsivehordr will be interested to see these as he's just picked a Pentacon 6 up.

well the 50iso put me off a bit but i'm glad i stuck a roll in to try.

Something amusing:- A path through the woods h'mm.....in the first shot I thought if I just get to the bridge I'd be Ok erm the water was so deep my shoes were soaked and when I got to the bridge there was a lake ahead (2nd shot)...so I had to cycle back and give my shoes another soaking. :( Ferrania film

They're really funny Brian, where was that? I didn't realise we'd had that much rain.

 Denham country park (69 acres), not far from the Denham roundabout\village\golf course..went back there yesterday and most of the water has drained away now.

Well Brian you did admit to a love of "fords" in one of the other threads.....shame there was no one to capture a candid of you getting wet feet!:D

 I was more worried about slipping on some mud off the path and sent flying as I couldn't always see where the path went as it meanders through the woods.
Recommended fun for all with wellingtons of course :)

The vintage feel was got me into film. Something you just couldn't recreate with PS imo.

No 3 was hugely amusing. Had some friends around for tea and they hadn't realised they came with matching jumpers. They are now married!

compulsivehordr - enjoy. It was a great camera with stunning lenses. Hope to see some pics here soon.

Raglansurf & Compulsivehordr when they wuz thinner and hairier, respectively, back in the 80's.

Contax 137MA, Sigma 24mm, HP5 @ 1600 ASA dev'd in Microphen. My memory doesn't span decades, (or even hours) I just always used the same kit. Still got it. Not the hair tho.

OMG, that's scary. Like a Flock of Seagulls tribute band.

ah, this was France - they Like cyclists... Englishmen with Cameras, hmm - less so

There's possibly more truth in that than you think.....I need to grow a curly beard and rename myself René :D

It's a worry, I didn't even like a Flock of Seagulls and I don't think it's acceptable to take photo's in the toilets any more

These were taken in January from Bluebell hill, with my first real try with B&W film Neopan 400CN, Nikon F5 and Nikkor 1.8AFD.

I hope you like and tell me how to improve.

Not up for critque I know, but you have asked for help on how to improve so here goes with my thoughts:

The last one in particular tickles my fancy Richard......the simplicity and shallow dof used in these type of shots that you take has a real appeal for me, hence why I'm also drawn to No3.
They shoot b&w very well imo.

By contrast, going on the range of tones in the second landscape shot, I'm tipping it was quite a colourful scene and may have benefited from some konica centuria ;)

The first shot I find too underexposed in the foreground although I realise the contrasts in lighting against the sky were beyond the latitude of the film.

It's a long time since I shot Neopan......it does render good results.
Time to grovel around in the freezer to see if there's any Acros still knocking about:D

^^^^^^

Thanks for that Asha, have to agree with the points on the first shot very difficult light on that day, I think I have some Centuria shots of the similar scene, will try and find them.

First duck shot for me too ....a duck that thinks it"s a stalk stood on one leg!:D

I was saying in the other thread I'd been happy to have the dSLR the last few days. I'm so glad I didn't on Monday! You want to see this slide!

Velvia 100 with the Ikonta 524/16. I used somthing like 1/10 and luckily there is no detail to show the camera shake!

Blooming 'eck that is lovely!

Right time, right place....with a film camera!.....Very nice Steve

Long exposure taken last month on the RZ67. 90mm lens, Fomapan 100, Ilfotec LC29

I made a start PP ing to remove dust etc then frustratingly "lost" the file so instead here is the "original" straight from the scanner:

This one's fantastic! I love the sense of motion.

Gotta love Velvia. Fantastic shot, just when I'm reconciling myself to 35mm this happens. Been trying to talk myself out of a Pentax 67...b****r....
