Bacon is saturated with fat. It doesn't matter how it's cooked, fried, grilled, microwaved, it still has way too high a fat content.on the bacon is making her fat front - its not the bacon per se its the way she cooks it
if you toast your bread, grill your bacon , and oven cook your sausages and mushrooms to go with your beans and an egg fried in a tiny bit of oil a breakfast like that can be fairly healthy (you can even make wedge chips in the oven with next to no oil) if a little lacking in greenery
on the otherhand if you fry all the main ingredients including the bread in a truckload of lard , then they are going to make you as fat as a hippo

As a way to make a point, that has to be one of the worst I've seen in a long while.
Think of something that fits your point, make it up from thin air, then state it as fact until asked, brilliant, just brilliant. Sure fire way to ensure no one takes your views on the given subject seriously.
My first thought when reading 'Person A' was this can't be for real the guy must have a 6 figure bank balance unless he's an idiot and thus thought that 'Person B' would also be a product of fantasy too.
There are some views in this thread that are at both extremes of the discussion, mine would be somewhere in the middle, people who need help (financial/medical etc) should get that help, those that don't need it shouldn't. If you're capable of providing for yourself then that's what you should, or at least be trying to, do.
don't care I love bacon, with sausages, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns. toast, and a nice strong cup of tea.
the one and only breakfast in the world. I thought this was a photo forum.
Maybe a tabloid newspaper isn't the best place to get information to make a choice around anyone"s benefit claim
Not any better I'd say, both will be high in saturated fats and not enough unsaturated fats to do her any good.yeah but its good fat - better to eat bacon than some greasy nasty ready meal.
From memory I was getting maximum DLA (both parts) long term terminal incapacity pay, maximum tac credit including child care, council tax discount, housing benefit, child allowance, travel money to hospital. My wife was also getting JSA (contribution based?). I also had free building work done but I think that was from a fund controlled my local council. I also paid no tax, had free boiler upgrade.Do you mind if I ask how you received that much per month?
I seem to rember the state making a collosal bail out to the banking sector ... and yet I don't recall you being in support of the state being able to determine whether bankers should get bonuses etc
Really? I'd have thought they would be unlikely to be doing 1 or 3, and highly likely to be eating 2. Diet 2, albeit in smaller quantities, was designed to be what most people eat every day. Anyone eating diet 1 would really struggle NOT to lose weight.I'm not doubting that for one minute but let's face it, people who become obese to the point that their mobility is impacted aren't likely to be doing options 2 or 3 are they?
Although only n=1, the experiment above strongly suggests that isn't the case = it's just as much down to the type of calories you eat as to the quantity. I personally suspect the quality of those calories could play a part for some people, but type of calories is the biggest influence, then quantity, then perhaps quality. If you are eating a balanced diet, incorporating all the different food groups in the right proportions, it's the quantity you eat that will make you add/lose weight.
Way too high a fat content for what?Bacon is saturated with fat. It doesn't matter how it's cooked, fried, grilled, microwaved, it still has way too high a fat content.
They didn't, they made an investment. A different thing.
I might agree. ..happy to.
But it would appear she's gladly accepted the money they offered.
Mmmmm it wasn't so much an investment as a 'bail them out or the economy is screwed"
If it was an investment, how come 6 years later we are still told how much the country struggles with debt?
Regardless of how much you eat or how it's cooked?Way too high a fat content for what?
If you eat exclusively bacon for a month, I guarantee you will lose weight.
Regardless of how much you eat or how it's cooked?

They received shares in return for the bail out, so it is an investment.Mmmmm it wasn't so much an investment as a 'bail them out or the economy is screwed"

Those shares have increased in value, and the government have started selling them,so the government have made money.

So why are we still in debt then? It was no sort of investment no matter how you dress it up
It's made huge progress to reduce the debt, I believe further Tory governments will get us into a budget surplus.
The investment value hasn't gone up sufficiently to make it worth selling.
How? It bought shares in RBS which it can sell to whom it sees fit whenever it wants. A bailout is a gift of funds without any ownership being taken.
errr.......so it wasn't a bailout, and everythings fine then? I really struggle to believe even you see it as anything other then what it was
Facts are inconvenient for you?
It's a long term investment, it was deemed the company could recover from where it was and grow. As it slowly is.
I don't think anyone's suggesting workhouses but the system does need to be overhauled.
I mean how is it fair that some people are working their plums off 40+ hours a week for £6.50 per hour and still struggle to make ends meet and pay tax which goes to those who have made conscious choices to avoid working (one way or another) and have a nice comfortable lifestyle granted to them for doing nothing more than sitting on their arse all day?

An unemployed person is required to show that they are actively seeking paid employment or loose their benifits, and the same rule should apply here - loose weight and get back into employment or loose your benifits
Shall we take a look at the other end of the scale?

Yes, more or less regardless of how much you eat or how it's cooked - in lard, tallow, butter or ghee would be best, as it would further increase the satiety.Regardless of how much you eat or how it's cooked?
Taking the article with a pinch (block) of salt..... this guy should be told to jog on and his benefits stopped!
yup, my experience is they are very quick to retract any state funding if the wind changes. let alone if youre not actively seeking employment.I am surprised that he gets JSA as you need to be available for work.
Steve.
what I was told whenI last signed on. I was to actively seek work and to keep a diary. I must take any employment of which I am capable of doing
