Should the sale of fireworks be banned?

11:20pm and there are still bangs going off outside

Which is highly antisocial. People work weekends and others may just a quiet night in front of the TV and cannot enjoy it due to other people's selfishness. 1120pm is bonkers late abs past a lot of adults never mind children's bed times. I for one rarely go to bed as late as that

I can't say that I'm bothered by them, nor is our dog. But fair enough it is a bit rural where we live. I really don't like going down the banning route, besides there are existing laws in place about nuisance and noise pollution, a ban really isn't going to help anyone and especially not the vast majority who can behave normally.

Personally I would look at solving it within ones own community before expecting the government to sort this one out at our expense.

As for pets, as soon as our cat hears the fireworks, she comes flying into the room, leaps up onto the windowsill and happily sits there watching them.

Ours does as well.... she loves to watch them and doesn't mind the bangs.

mine doesn't. a few loud bangs as someone has described as "like a depth charge going off" and she is totally scared, shivering with fear and would run away given the chance

I was reading last night of a horse that developed a major case of colic from the stress of a nearby private display. It hs several emergency surgeries to try and rectify prolapsed and twisted parts of gut but eventually it had to be put down.

So yes some animals are fine with it, others find it highly distressing.
